Philip L Detmer, 64, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, August 27, 2011.

He was born Wednesday, October 30, 1946, in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Philip and Marcella (Rice) Detmer.

He served his country in the US Army.

He loved to ride his Harley, loved cars, and loved sports. He was a Mr. "Fix It" and would never give up on a project that he had started. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycles Association; Road America Corvette Club; HOG (Harley Owners Group); First Presbyterian Church of Aurora; and Anytime Fitness -- part of the coffee club. Phil was a big fan of his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He worked as a Machinist for Kelloggs in Cincinnati and retired 2 years ago.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Pamela (Clayton) Detmer; son, Ryan (Sheri) Detmer; daughter, Sara (Mike) Powell; brother, Thomas (Ruth) Detmer; 3 grandchildren, Evan and Eli Powell, and Karsyn Detmer; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 12pm to 2pm at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2pm with Rev. Dana Stout officiating.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church from 2-5pm to visit with family and friends.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
