After graduating from Baton Rouge High, I attended LSU for one year, majoring in Elementary Education. However, in 1981, when my Aunt invited me to come and live with her in Houston, Texas, I could not pack my bags fast enough, to leave Baton Rouge. The bright city lights of Houston seemed to be calling my name.

While living in Houston, I met and married my first husband, in 1983. He was an African-American, from Houston, Texas. We were married for 8 years, however, we never had any children.

After completing Paralegal School, I worked for the Harris County Family Court System; and eventually for the Federal Government (the U.S. District Court System).

After divorcing my first husband, I returned to Baton Rouge, in late 1993, to care for my ailing father (now deceased), who had a serious heart condition, which required major surgery.

After the 1996 Olympics, I began to hear a lot of wonderful things about the city of Atlanta. Since 1999, I have moved from Atlanta to Baton Rouge twice, to care for my elderly mother. Being an only child, with aging parents, I was literally torn between living in the big cities of Houston and Atlanta, and returning to Baton Rouge, to care for my elderly parents.

From March 2006, until March 2009, I lived in Atlanta, Georgia, where I previously worked as a Paralegal, and also as a Legal Secretary.

After being divorced for 16 years, I married my current husband, Thomas, in November 2006. He is 12 years my Junior. (I reckon that would classify me as a "Cougar" woman.) You can view our photos below.

Thomas is from Kenya, Africa, and he is the most wonderful man that I have ever Loved in my entire life. He is so romantic, loving and kind, and he treats me like "Cinderella", on a daily basis.

I am so sorry that we were unable to attend this 30 year Class Reunion, since my husband had to work. We plan to be at the next one. Thanks to Flora, and to the other Committee members, for organizing this Class Reunion for us. You all are truly Awesome!

School Story:

I used to love eating in the cafeteria with my friends. I also loved hearing Principal Lee Faucette announcing that we would be having "Elongated Tube Steaks" for lunch... (Hot Dogs)... lol lol I would get such a kick out of that. I hope that he will also be at our next Class Reunion in 2014.

Wow, I cannot believe that I had such "big hair" back then. How I would love to look like this now.

We are attending a friend's wedding in June 2008, in Baton Rouge. I am wearing the African dress that my mother-in-law shipped to me from Kenya, Africa.
