Hey, Mike - Bert would be very proud! We took my son Chris's band to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day 2007 and it was LSU vs Notre Dame...I could feel him with us all the way down from Baton Rouge. Bert helped lay all the cable at the SuperDome when it was built. Too bad he isn't here still today. Chris resembles Bert a lot - 6' 2" now, same wavy blondish brown hair too. He's a snare drummer in the drumline with Pahokee High's OD Express Marching Band.

I'm on my way to N.O. today with Johnny "Jambalaya"
Percle for a fund raiser for Harry Ravain, he is a famous drummer from N.O. who has lung cancer He was drummer for several bands and did a lot of studio work with every body you ever heard of. We made several trips to Muscle Shoals Ala. to do albums, & met some greats there, from Otis Redding to the Allmann Bros. There is going to be a lot of musicians at Rock & Bowl in New Orleans today. I'm hoping to make it down for the reunion, it would be great to see you guys again.

Thanks Alan. I love playing around and adding things to this site. I also love reading all the profile updates with all the old BG memories. It's funny...we all have the same warm memories of growing up in BG. Thanks for adding your registration. The registration list is growing...slowly...but growing. I'm always anxious about these things. If I had my way EVERYONE would register TODAY!!

I was reading all the interesting stories and comments. Brenda, the day the president was shot I was in Mr Keva's civics class. I remember it scared me so. I had never seen a grown man cry before. Every one remembers where they were. Places in time they will never forget, 911, Challenger, Columbia, Kennedy.

Bruce, when the Challenger exploded I remember so vividly I was driving north on I-95 headed to a camera shop on Northlake Blvd. and had my two youngest children with me. I was pointing out the space shuttle to them & noticed something strange about the smoke. By the time I got to the shop it was already all over the radio. Very shocking indeed.

Okay folks. Here's the deal. The reunion is creeping up on us. Some of you haven't registered yet, but I KNOW you want to come! Brenda has done a lot of work to organize this reunion as she has done so many times before. So...get off your duffs and REGISTER.
You won't want to miss it. Just think, you get to see how old everybody looks!!Speaking of which, I think I'll try to lose some weight soon! Odds of that being successful are about the same as hitting the Fla. lottery or growing hair!! Take care everyone and don't forget to laugh today...even if it's at yourself!!

Whoa...Vickie! It's been a loooooong time since I was called Curly! Those were fun times. I'm afraid the hair is a distant memory as well! I, too, am looking forward to the reunion. What fun!!It just doesn't seem like FORTY YEARS! See ya then. And don't forget...laugh today! It keeps us young!

Pat Burkett (Angel)

Hey Larry....if laughing keeps us young then I SHOULD be FEELING like I'm 16..I'm surrounded by crazy/fun people all the time......Our granddaughter Eva Isabella Bueno was born on 3/10/09 which makes me "Mimi/Meems" for the third and last time...maybe it would be a bad thing to act 16 again huh?

03/31/09 05:22 PM #92

Vickie Betzner Lassiter

Hey Pat, very disturbing because I can not find them.
Dan could have thrown them away not knowing what they
were at the time. I do still have my year books.

Hi Brenda,
Just checking in, do you have an idea of who is coming to the reunion or how many we have so far, just wondering ? Mike Lagarde "68"

04/07/09 10:43 PM #94

Brenda Buckner (Prescott)

Mike, click on "classmate profiles" and look at the little icon that looks like a person beside their name. Those people have indicated that they plan to attend. So far, it's a pretty good indication of who's coming. Those people have either mailed in their checks or have sent me an e-mail to say the "check's in the mail".LOL I'm estimating the total number will be close to 190 people with spouses. In 2004 we had 226 on Sat. night, so I figure with this economy 190 is doing pretty good. That number could grow at the last minute. Nobody will be turned down. HA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREETINGS GO OUT TO AGGIE GRESSINGER BROWN, GARY CAMPLIN, AND CAROL ANN WILLIAMS CAMPBELL.

Vickie....oh my goodnes....I found a book that we got as seniors when we ordered our graduation invitations. It was to keep "memories" in.....anyway, I had put some pictures in it and found about 10 of you at different ages...They really made me smile...I do hope I can remember to bring it for you to see...

Hey Pat, well I haven't been on line lately. Sorry so late responding. Would love to see the pictures since I'm unable to find most of mine. My youngest daughter Dani just graduated Law school, so I've been busy.
If you get this way before reunion to see your grand baby, call and come see me I'm not far.
