Hey, we are leaving saturday morning, to key west for the night, then north on 95 to around Jupiter to jump on A1A and spend the night. Then up and off to Savanah and spend a day or so. Then to Myrtle Beach, then Norfolk Va then to chendoaha for the night there. Then getting on top of the blue ridge mountains and heading west. Staying the Labor day weekend in NC, then over the mountains at Cherokee to Tenn, a day there or so, then west again to Alabama, then south down the west coast of Fl, we are buying two bottles of monkey butt seat powder for our butts. Now if the monkey dust does not work, might turn south earlier, our butts will be our guide I am sure. Now you understand at our age, the above, either all or part could change, we are both so excited and have been looking forward and planning this for months. Take Care All of you

Hi You All, We got back from the trip and had a fantastic time, 11 days and 3400 miles later. The monkey butt powder worked well and would go again on a moments notice. Rudy was the happiest and most chilled out i have ever seen him since we met. What a great traveling partner he is and we laughed so hard we cried. Key West was way to hot, but pretty, sure has grown since my last trip down, then to Daytona area, then to Savanah, then to Myrtle Beach SC, then across to Roenoke, then to Shendoha to start the trip on top.
The trip was so beautiful, coming across the Blue Ridge Mountains, all 469 miles of them was an awesome part of the trip. The temp's in the 40;s, to say the least it was really cold. We stayed at the Hooks cabin for three days in North Carolina and did not have time to take it all in, what a place and what a pleasure to stay with Mr Hooks, Rudy's sister Donna and her husband Larry, great people for sure. From there it was over the Smokey Mountains, rained all the way over and was a bit chilly also. Did you know you can have heated handle grips and seats on a Harley, well neither of our's had those two options. From Tenn down thru Georgia into Alabama, fell in love with Bainbridge Ga. then down thru Tallahassee to Crystal River and the next day back home. If any of you ever get the chance, take it. Do not follow your dreams, chase them. We stayed out of trouble the whole trip and nothing sinister to report to your dismay Brenda, surprise surprise huh, Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.

What a great trip! We should all take those adventures from time to time instead of just talking about it! I'm am truly disappointed about "no dirt" Alan...LOL! Glad you guys made it home safely. On another note, hopefully everyone received my e-mail earlier about Herbert Giese who passed away this morning.

Alan, sounds like a great trip! I know you guys enjoyed every minute of it. If I had know you guys were coming through Crystal River, I would have bought you lunch. We live about 20 miles from there. Maybe next time.
Sorry to hear about Herbie. It's true the next day, or moment is not promised to us, so there is a lot to be said about "living life" to the fullest. (Responsibly, of course!)
We are headed to Cordele, Ga in a couple of weeks for an old fashioned train ride through the country-side and some old towns. It's something we've never done before. Should be fun.
Thanks Brenda for keeping the information flowing on this site. Once again, the reunion was GREAT!
Take care all and remember.....
LIVE....LAUGH....AND...LOVE!!!!Because life's short!

That did sound like a cool trip. After the reunion, I came back to La. for a week then right back to Fla. for a week in Ocala. Sorry I didn't get to call anyone (Larry) or anyone else, but we were super busy while I was in town. Got back to La. & had to be in Texarkana Texas the next week.Got back home in time to go to Wally world in N. Arkansas for some FAA inspections at the airport up there in Bentonville- Rogers Ark. Boy that was something about Herbie & David, my condolences to their families. I still can't believe how fast the reunion was over, I didn't seem to have a chance to talk to nearly enough of our old school friends. I Hope we can do it again before too long. Wish I had taken way more pictures.

I've posted Herbert Giese's obituary under his name in the "in memory" section. If anyone has a story...any story...that you would like to share about him please hit the key below his obit that says "post response" and print it please. You can also do this for any of our deceased classmates. I agree with Mike...I think we're going to have our reunions a little closer together. Who wouldn't want a get-together every 2 or 3 years??? I'm still reveling in the fun we had. Paul & I are waiting the arrival of our first granddaughter in 3 weeks! Can't wait to see what this little girl will look like after five very blonde grandsons and only one brunette!

Hi everyone, Ron and I went to Washington DC for the march last weekend and to visit with friends in Annapolis Md. I missed out on protesting in the 60's and 70's so at almost 59 I decided it was time stand up for all my family, friends and fellow Americans and send a message to our government. I have never been so proud to be an American as I was on 9-12, it was a day where hundreds of thousands of people from all races, ages and walks of life stood as one to say we have had enough of government controlling our lives. I will gladly march again and Ron and I are staying active in our local political movement. We took a walk to the monuments and the feeling that overwhelms you when you see WW11 veterans and Vietnam vets at these monuments is something we will never forget. I was so honored to be able to tell them thank you for all you did for all of us. i have pictures posted on my facebook if any is interested. Yes I have a facebook, my kids said I needed to get with it. My next trip is to go see Gail Spooner in NC. I wish I had known Alan and Rudy were going that way, they were very close to Gail and she would have loved to see them. Keep in touch everyone, life is short and friends are precious, without them we would not have wonderful memories to grow old with. Brenda, let us know when your little princess arrives. Love to all, Joanne

Joanne, It gives me goose bumps when I read a post like yours, you go girl and walk with your head high. I am proud to be an American, I am not politically correct nor do I care to be. I am extremely involved in our local Govt and wish each and everyone one of you would do the same thing. Has nothing to do with political party, has to do with right and wrong. The corruption has eaten away at this wonderful country, time to stop it. Tell Gail, I said hi.

Lo and behold...my computer has crashed!!!! How am I to function without access to our cyberworld??? Prayed it wouldn't happen before the reunion so I should be thankful it didn't! I'm on my daughter's checking in. Alan, sent Syd Guerry an e-mail today about Ron. The last e-mail was not promising. She said he was struggling to breathe and to hang on. Haven't heard back. Hopefully she will update me soon. So sad and apparently she's going blind. What else is going on out there? Carol and Larry Lamb...are you still planning to come to Brooke & Derek's reunion even though the date had to change. So many of their classmates backed out at the last minute that the girls didn't have a choice or they would have lost a lot of money. The resort is really trying to work with them & make the reunion a success. We are enjoying our new granddaughter "Gaby". I think we will be babysitting that weekend as well! Brenda

Brenda, It is up in the air right now. We are having everyone here in Dunnellon for Thanksgiving. As it stands now, Derek and Elizabeth will be coming down for the reunion on Sat. They will either leave Dylan here with us or take Lori with them to babysit. My guess is they will take him with them (to show him off of course) if Lori can book a flight back to Washington from WPB. We know you are enjoying Gaby as well.
We are planning our next trip to Augusta for 10/24. Carol says she can't wait until Thanksgiving to see him. We tend to get our grandbaby "fix" about every 6 to 8 weeks! Hope you get your computer back up and running okay.
Hello to everyone else and remember to laugh today!

Brenda hope you and Paul are enjoying the new granddaughter. I have a new grandson. Isn't it great to have grandchildren you can love them, spoil them and then send them home. Also Happy Birthday Paul. Have a good day. God Bless you both.

Brenda, thank you for the up date on Ronnie, he was always in such good shape in high school and a great guy, I like him and I pray for his recovery. This getting older stuff is not for me, much harder than I ever thought it would be. Having this ten year old here at home going 100 mph all the time will either keep me young or kill me. Hope Paul got my message yesterday and that he had a wonderful birthday. Tell him when he gets close to Punta Gorda he best call or stop in. Seems like the only time I see most folks are at the reunions (wonderful reunions they are thanks to you and a bunch of your helpers) or at funerals, would rather see them at the reunions.

Brenda Buckner (Prescott)

Pat...Paul took me to Amy's for my birthday dinner! What a surprise that was!LOL Anyway 58 yrs. certainly beats the alternative!! Thanks for the birthday wishes...and I'm still glad you'll always be older than I am!!!

Wow! It seems nobody has anything to say on this site. I know the reunion has come and gone, but we could still communicate and keep up with each other once and a while.
The weather is beautiful here in north Florida. I would like to give a belated thanks to all veterans who served our country!
Take care all. Remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away!

I guess everyone is just being lazy and not posting. Doesn't anyone have anything exciting going on out there with the exceptions of my new granddaughter who's picture I have posted on my profile just in case you want to see her! Did I mention how adorable she is?LOL Larry, Brooke tells me that she is SO disappointed that Derek can't make the reunion. I know it's a bad weekend or it could actually end up being a great weekend for a reunion. I'm already missing ours!

Alright, now I'm with Larry Lamb and Alan Lebeau...DOES NOBODY HAVE ANYTHING TO TALK ABOUT ON HERE??? What is everybody doing these days? Tell us about your families. I could go on & on about mine...and I often do! Anyway...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF OUR RAMS WHEREVER YOU HAPPEN TO BE! Tell us some things that ya'll are doing for Thanksgiving. Last year we took our camper and family and went to Arcadia to my brother-in-law's hunting camp for 4 days. Had a ball....30-40 degrees every night. Had huge bonfires at night. Grandsons had such a good time. This year we're having a typical boring dinner at my house because we can't take the little granddaughter to the hunting camp yet!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYBODY!

Brenda, Derek is also disappointed that he can't make the reunion. It's just a little too much to pack into the Thanksgiving weekend, traveling with a 19 month old.
I'm also sure it has nothing to do with him getting tickets to the Fla - FSU game on Saturday!!Ha!
Just a reflection on my part....I'm sure most of us have never gone hungry or wanted for a roof over our heads. I'm not saying some of us have not met hard times, but for the most part, we are all truly blessed. This is the time of year to express thanks for all the blessings. I am truly thankful for mine!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I guess everyone is busy Christmas shopping and enjoying the holidays instead of posting on this blog! Please write & let us know what your plans for the holidays are. I saw Pat Angel in the mall tonight relaxing while her family shopped. Now that's the way to enjoy the mall! Some of my family will join Paul & I for a Christmas Eve dinner and then we will all have Christmas morning together and then spend the rest of the day at my son Paul, Jr.s house. It's always a fun day especially for the six little boys. They love the chance to get together. We need to remember the good things in our lives at this time of year and thank God for blessing all of us. I hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Love to all.
