Gary Eugene Lieberg

Graduated from Central Washington State College in 1966, was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF and served for 20 years as a pilot in the Air Force. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and took a job with the Boeing Company for 17 years, working in the Military Airplane, Space Station, and Commercial Airplane divisions. I am retired and living a very happy life with my spouse. We love to cruise and that is why I will not be able to attend the reunion. We made arrangements for a cruise a year ago, and it happens during the time that the reunion will be held. I wish I could attend, but it will not be so.

I had a special relationship with our librarian, Mrs. Fowler. I ran those old 16 MM projectors for classes, set up the audio systems and ran the turn table for the sock hops in the gym. I don't know if the original 7 inch tape reels are still around, but I also recorded the first steps we took in the NASA Mercury space program.

Mrs. Fowler always gave me a chance to advance my knowledge of the audio visual world and that lead to my college minor of radio and television production.

The other teacher I remember the most was Mr. (red) Eickoff. He was the band teacher and what a wonderful man he was. I learned more about life and how to cope with it from him. I also learned a bunch about music along the way. I guess it didn't hurt that my mother was a music teacher too and she and Red were great friends. Talk about being caught in the middle!
