501(c) (3) Nonprofit Status

The Belmar Elementary School Class Reunion – A NJ Nonprofit Corporation is pleased to announce that its application for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code has been approved.  The tax-exempt status is retroactive to the incorporation of the organization on February 18, 2015.  Contributions to the Belmar Elementary School Class Reunion are fully tax-deductible since our date of formation.

Obtaining tax-exempt status under section 501(c) (3) was an important step for the Belmar Elementary School Class Reunion. This critical approval allows us to move forward with our vision of lowering barriers to charitable giving and increasing everyday engagement.  In addition to providing for tax-deductibility for their contributions, it provides additional assurance to our contributors that their donations will be handled with transparency and professionalism.  Our view of the future of charitable giving is that donors want to support not only the mission of a charity, but also those causes important to their network of family and friends.  With the Belmar Elementary School Class Reunion, this is accomplished in a technology-driven, secure, social network.

Donation money received shall be used for the following purposes:

Firstly, monies from the donations will be used to offset the reunion’s operating expense and cost for the class reunion or other scheduled event in a given year and/or for the Boards Discretion in furtherance of its MISSION STATEMENT.

Secondly, a donation shall be made to the Belmar Elementary School (Monmouth County - New Jersey) in memory of our deceased classmates. The donation may be used as a scholarship or to buy something the school needs, such as equipment for the Physical Education Department or books for the library.
