Your life since graduation:

Although I started out wanting to be a musician, I worked most of my life in the food processing business in California and retired from it in Oregon in 2001.

I moved to the Northwest in 1998 and now spend my time traveling, fly fishing, and riding my motorcycle all over over the USA and Canada. In retirement I edited and published a motorcycling magazine, which I recently gave up after five years at it.

School Story:

I was a late transplant from Serra (the priests there had enough of me!) and only spent 1-1/2 years at Carlmont, so I didn't get to know a lot of classmates. But I was real active in band and learned to choral sing for the first time with Gerry Einarsson, which I kept doing for 40 years afterward!

Most important teachers at Carlmont were Joe Zucca (Biology), Rusty Reed (Concert/Marching Band) and Betty Sanders (English). I'm indebted to them all for stimulating my curiosity about everything under the sun.

Linda was my girlfriend through most of (and a little beyond) my senior year at Carlmont. Indeed, she was a great gal and a lot of fun to be with.

As with most "first loves," we went our separate ways as we started new lives after high school. Linda went to work for the CIty of San Carlos and I went on to college at CSM at Coyote Point. Her entire family treated me almost as a son and I have really wonderful memories of Linda's parents, Gene and Bernice, and her sister, Carol.

We lost track of each other, of course, but I "discovered" her through this website and found her to be living in Bellingham, WA, "just up the road" from where I presently reside in Oregon. Linda, now a widow, and I were able to visit a couple of times at her home there in 2012 or so. Her bone dry sense of humor was still with her after all those years! We kept in touch by email until she got sick.

I feel lucky to have spent a little time with her and to have rekindled a very enjoyable friendship in our latter years. Certainly, her passing deeply affected me and brought back all the great memories of our time together as youngsters and even as oldsters!

May she rest in eternal peace.
