CLEARWATER -- A 33-year-old man died Tuesday after his Geo Tracker rolled over several times on Lakeview Road late Monday.  Three passengers were injured.

Mark Grospitch, of 920 Tuskawilla St. in Clearwater, died at 10:20 a.m. at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was taken by helicopter after the accident.  Police said Grospitch was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle, which is similar to a small Jeep.

George T. Britton, 30, of 614 McLennon St. in Clearwater, also was taken by helicopter to Bayfront.  He was listed Tuesday in critical condition in the neurological intensive care unit, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Carrie Boyee, 21, also of 614 McLennon St., was a front seat passenger and the only one of the four not thrown from the vehicle.  She was in stable condition at Morton Plant Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

Robert K. Ozak, 36, of 606 McLennon  St., was in stable condition at Clearwater Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Clearwater traffic homicide Investigator Scott Wilson said Grospitch was driving west on Lakeview Road at about 60 mph in a 30 mph zone when the accident happened.

Near Prospect Street, Grospitch's car veered across the center line and was headed west in the eastbound lane.

He said Grospitch over-corrected, swerving to the right.  The vehicle spun clockwise and rolled several times before stopping in front of 802 Lakeview Road.

Police said they were not sure whether anyone in the car was using a seat belt.
