Died Sunday, March 21st, 2010.
ABDALLAH FARRIS M. ABDALLAH, age 49. Dearest son of Mary (nee Azar) and the late Salim. Dear brother of Jamal Hanna (Rob) and the late Samuel. Cherished uncle of Maddie, Bobby, Natalie and Samantha Hanna. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Farris was manager of Farris' Drive Thru in Berea for over 30 years, he will be missed by all.
TRISAGION SERVICES WEDNESDAY AT 3:45 P.M. Funeral services Thursday, March 25, 2010, St. George Orthodox Church, 2587 W. 14 St. at 10:30 a.m. Interment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends WEDNESDAY 2-4 AND 6-9 P.M. AT THE A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS. (WEST OF I-71).

I knew Farris well. I lived down the street from his grocery store when I lived on Prospect. I used to go there a lot. I would ride my bike there and get gum. I'd see him working there, helping his parents. He was a good kid. His parents made him work. He gave me a couple free sodas. He was a kind soul and worked hard at his store. Guess he stuck with it. R.I.P Farris.

I lived a few blocks from S&Ms and Farris and I were friends in kindergarten and the first few grades at Fairwood. I remember, during the Six Day War in 1967, he and I joking about being an Arab and a Jew and friends. We used to play in his room above the store. We fell out of touch in later years, but I always thought fondly on him, and his parents. So long ago now...

It is hard to believe that it has been seven years since Farris passed. He was a good guy with a great sense of humor.
Eddie Wiles and I used to walk to the S&M (Sam and Marys) delicatessen the night before Roehm Junior High track meets and get Cracker Jacks. We felt Cracker Jacks were a great way to enhance our performances (since we could not blood dope with Reindeer blood like the 1970s Finland runners).
Plus Eddie was a wonderful friend (and still is today). We were comrades in arms battling the evil empires of Ford Junior High and Middleburg Junior High.
Thanks Farris for those great memories!
