Bob Hoage still has a Facebook page-- lots of pictures of his family--

https://www.facebook.com/robert.hoage?fref=ts

heartbreaking to look at-- when his lovely red-haired wife died he said "there is now a hole in the universe."

And so many of his relatives keep posting things on his FB page for his birthdays after he died like:

"Happy Birthday sweet Uncle R.J. Wish I could hug you!!!"

What an odd thing Facebook is...it can be a lovely memorial site.

I did not know Bob Hoage well, but I did know him over a long time, since he and I were always both friends of his next door neighbor Jerry White [1946-2005], who flunked back into the BCC class of 1965.  In his early life he was known by the nickname "Coopy", and I am amused to remember that, when a kid in the early grades of elementary school would write his or her first name at the bottom something that he had drawn or written, he wrote that.  I had never had as long a conversation with him as I did with him & his lovely wife at our 40 year reunion.  I, and I think all of us, would have been glad to see them at our recent reunion, but they did not survive.
