May 14, 2016. We have just been informed by Diane McChesney Parfitt that Charlie passed away Friday, May 13, 2016. In spite of major health challenges, Charlie was an active participant in the planning and the celebration of the Chevy Chase Elementary reunion in September 2015. He was our link to the school and took that role very conscientiously, looking after each detail as we sought their cooperation in planning our reunion. In several phone calls with Charlie over the past year and a half, he was also enthusiastic, thoughtful, youthfull and thorough. If you ever spoke with Charlie on the phone, you would think he was about 18 years old -- he was so upbeat!
Our thoughts go to Charlie's wife Nancy and to his family, including his cousin and fellow classmate Brian Norcross.
