Happy Birthday Frank !
Ignore the zero, it's only a number, you're only as old as you feel... Pick a bromide, have a beer, have a great time, and continue making the world a better place.
Then have another beer!
All the Best,
Jim

If you can count your birthdays, you're still doing well-
If you can't, maybe you're better off...
Happy Birthday!

Just got back from California where I dropped in on old friend Steve Chapple - Ahem... visiting scholar at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Had a great lunch with him and Ines, then got a tour of the La Jolla beaches and the Scripps campus ( I couldn't get anyone there to take me seriously). Great to see you Steve, and thanks for signing my copy of "Breakpoint".

I am happy to report that rumours of Jerry Dustin's death have been greatly exaggerated. I had never really heard from anyone who knew the exact circumstances of his death, just that he was probably dead- i.e. he had been living on the streets for years, was in bad shape, hadn't been seen for more years etc. When I was at the reunion I checked for a death certificate at the county courthouse, checking all of Montana back to 2001- he wasn't listed. Then I talked to Connie Dye, who had found out that he was alive and had found his niece on facebook. Thank you Connie! From there I found his brother Dick in Arizona, called him and found that Jerry has been living at the Deer Lodge Rehabilitation and Care Center for the last 4 years, after spending several years at a similar center in Billings. I called Jerry, he is doing surprisingly well after having two strokes and two heart attacks over the years. He needs supplementary oxygen, and says his one joy in life is smoking, he looks forward to his 4 smoking breaks each day. He has no recollection of how he got there, but otherwise his memory of old times seemed quite good. We talked about old times for nearly an hour. I plan on stopping to see him next summer when I next visit Montana.
Thanks again Connie for your help!
