George is in St. Francis Medical Center, Room 4430, 530 N.E. Glen Oak Ave., Peoria, Il., 61637. This is the post surgery floor. He has not been moved to re-hab yet. George, Irene and their kids are in our prayers. Anyone wishing to contribute to George's fund can still send it to me. 12 Oxford Court. B'Ton 61704. I in turn have been giving it to John Flynn, George and Irene's son. I'm doing this because we don't know when or where  George will be transfered to re-hab which could possibly be in another city.

I don't have any news about George except he is doing as well as can be expected. He and Irene are in God's hands and all of our prayers are being heard.

Our love and prayers are coming to you, George and Irene!

P.S. Keep your thoughts coming to George and Irene by posting and reposting here......

Hi Tony and Lynda. We're sorry that you missed the reunion.  Lynda, I hope you had a good time with the girls and Tony, did you catch lots of fish? How was the weather in Canada? This was a very special reunion. We're already looking forward to the 55th.  Everyone had a very nice time starting Friday and ending Sunday! Wednesday night at Monicals also had a good crowd. We did miss you though. If our reunions get any longer, we'll all be spending vacations together!  (Now THAT might be worth trying!) Maybe we can get together sooner! Keep in touch.

Nancy

Nancy, thanks for keeping in touch and keeping us informed about George and Donnie. They are in our prayers every day. The vacation reunion sounds like a good idea to me, I vote for a cruise. :-)

We saw Mike and Jerilyn at Church. George has been moved to the rehab floor at St. Francis Medical Center. His room number is now 2348. He started his rehab today. The family is happy with the choice of hospitals.

Dear friends,  George and I are so grateful for all you have done during this challenging time.  We are fortunate to have such a close and caring class.  We thank God for all of you and want you to know how much we treasure you.

Thank you for the prayers, first and foremost, for the cards and for your generosity.  It has meant so much to know so many people are caring for us.  You are all very special.

George is going at rehab with determination and occasional humor.  Our children have been there for George and for me and for each other.  I am sure this will reach reality soon, but for now we have been dealing with obstacles on a day to day basis.  So keep those prayers coming!!!!

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

Our love always,  Irene (and George)

I just talked to Lola and wanted to let everyone know that they are ok after Hurricane Sandy.  They had 1 1/2 feet of snow and have had no power since Monday night, but they have a generator and are able to run in every few hours so get some heat in the house.  Nancy Roosensteel and her husband Gene, are coming from Maine to visit tomorrow.  Lola says she'll get the Uno out of the closet!

I am concerned about Kay but don't want to try to call her and use up any cell phone energy at this point.  Virginia Beach could be dicey.  If anyone has heard anything, let us know.

Kay e-mailed me and she is safe from the effects of Sandy.  Said yard is a mess, but no damage to house.

Still let's keep all of Sandy's victims in our prayers.

Talked to Anita Sunday,  she's doing fine.  Said to tell everyone HI.  She and I are making plans to visit when I'm in Fl (Feb).

I told her I'd bring my laptop so she can view the video and pictures.  She does not have a computer.  I also got her to tell me her birthday, so it will show up on our site.

Kay, also e-mailed me this AM.  She's preparing for the next storm.  Maybe we all should try to convince our easterner classmates that our weather may not be as bad. (LOL)

Several of you have suggested not waiting 5 years for our next reunion!! I'm all for that...... What do you think of 2 1/2 years? That would be the spring of 2015. Even that seems like an awfully long ways away to me. INPUT PLEASE!!!!!! Maybe June of 2015.

If we start planning now, maybe we can have a 100% turn out .What do you think? Oh my gosh!!!!! We will be 70 YEARS OLD!!!! God willing......

Also, anyone who is coming from out of town and wants to have an impromptu get together in between just let me know. As long as we are living in this house and have room for everyone, we can meet here. I miss everyone already. Can you tell?

I have made some calculations........

82 classmates were sent information about our reunion.

40 classmates attended on Saturday

4 classmates attended Friday's party. (Who were unable to attend Saturday)

3 attended the pizza party at Monical's (Who were unable to attend Saturday)

47 total classmates attended some activity during our reunion weekend

So is that about 60%? You all know  that my favorite class in school was social hour!!

Lola and I were talking and trying to remember where each of our 5 year reunions were held. Let's put our heads together and see if we can remember all of them.

1. 5 year was at Dave Sullivan's

2. 10 year was at The Holiday Inn

3. 15 year was at Lakeside?

4. 20 year was at Lakeside

5. 25 year was at ?

6. 30 year was at the old K of C's

7. 35 year at New K of C's

8. 40 year was at Lanier's

9. 45 year was at Lanier's

10. 50 year was at Lakeside

Can you correct these or fill in the blanks?

I remember something that I think was a reunion at the New K of C's that only a few of us attended. Does anyone else remember that one? Maybe the 35th.? It was a potluck.

JUNE 2015 sounds great to me. I also enjoy coming back to Bloomington. Let's all have input as to maybe something different, any ideas?? Maybe someplace special or unusual?

I'm still designing our 50 year reunion booklet. It's 90% done. I'm including a page of current photos of those who didn't /couldn't attend this year. If you have a photo of a classmate maybe within the last 2 years, please forward it to Donna, Joe or Nancy. If you know of their phone number, call them and ask for a photo please. Thanks...

Good  news!! George is scheduled to come home today!!!!

Donnie enjoys getting cards from us so keep sending them to:

2110 24th Avenue West

Bradenton, Florida 34205

He loves reading them and has them hanging around their house.

Louise seems to be doing ok. She is working at Beer Nuts a couple of days a week.

Please remember them and all of us in your prayers.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Several of our classmates are in need of our prayers. I can't give details. At this time I'm just asking for prayers. God already knows who they are.

Hugs to you all

Dear Friends, wishing you all a Happy Thankgiving, remembering you all in my prayers.

I am most thankful for my freedom and for my family and friends. So thankful that I grew up in the "time of innocence" in Bloomington, IL.  I have many happy memories of my childhood and young adult years.

God bless you and keep you.

Great news!! One of our classmate that we were praying for had great news today! Last week he had a skin cancer removed along with five lymph nodes. Today the nodes came back clear. We still need to keep the others in our prayers. It always amazes me how well group prayers work.
