Thanks Michelle that was the idea. Put forth an engaging topic which could be discussed by those who wanted to take part. It's nice to discuss topics like this with friends you've known for most your life. For the most part, although "great minds will disagree" we're still comfortable enough with each other that it really doesn't matter. Have a nice Christmas everyone :)

The snow around here is pretty crazy. I can't remember the last time we had this much snow. Watching the news and seeing all those holiday travelers stranded at Sea-Tac makes me thankful I don't have to fly anywhere. I am also thankful that I took the opportunity to move up closer to the folks. If I was still in Olympia I don't think I could make it up to Auburn, but now all I have to do is walk to their house if the snow doesn't go away by Thursday. For all of you who are traveling out there to see family be safe and Merry Christmas to everyone. :)

Hey Brad, For the record I was definately not offended by "stirring the pot". I thought it was great. I have changed alot since High School, and its great to be able to voice our views among each other. I think its pretty cool to be able to see the people whom we have all become with our years of growing since High School and what better way than to voice our opinions and concerns. Great way to network and possibly grow even more.
I wish everyone a merry christmas and may the new year bring everyone one step closer to achieving their hopes and dreams...
Trevor, if you are traveling, I wish you well and luck in the airports... Again Merry Christmas to all...

Thanks for the comment Shanon. That was the idea, just to be able to share different views on a subject so ground-breaking as the latest election. I know people will disagree with me and agree, and if their viewpoint is different from mind it really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Because we grew up with each other it is interesting to see which way some people lean when sharing their views. Democracy in action I guess.. Have a nice Christmas everyone !!

i just got back from visiting the folks for christmas. they live on 180th st. (the road going up the hill to the high school) and have a 200 ft. drive way from the road. the snow was insane, but what was even crazier to me was the total lack of snow plows!!!! we were stuck with 12 inches of slush in the drive way! the side roads were impassable. half the presents we had shipped didn't make it. how does a city the size of seattle completely shut down like that? i was blown away! on the other hand, being snowed in created a magical christmas with the family. it was what christmas should be, with lots of music, game playing and laughter. sorry i didn't get in touch with anyone. hope everyone has a great new year!

Hello to all!! I can't believe its already the 20 year reunion coming up....that's crazy!! I am going to do my best to make it and hope to see a lot of friends and classmates. (I am leaving Korea in a couple months but will be deployed to afghanistan soon from FT Campbell) I havent kept in touch with anyone and hope I recognize or am recognized. :) Gosh I feel old, just thinking about this. I am looking forward to see how things have progressed and see the old stomping grounds.

See ya soon!!

It has been kinda quiet in here for a while, so I was wondering... what things would people like to see at our reunion??

01/13/09 11:10 PM #94

Toni Richardson

Travis, I'm sure your not the only one feeling old or in some of us, feeling heavier either. Good to see some of the old names here and the altered ones. just doing a quick check for now but will be back again, I did however check the "in memory" and my heart goes out to all those that know the one's we lost, and monique maybe that could be something to do, a tribute to those lives that have been lost, so we don't forget them? Be back soon!

In regards to Brad's post: I think it is going to be interesting to see how things unfold over the next year and who takes credit or gets blamed for choices that are made. (is that vague or what)lol..
I am in the miltary now and support anyone who has been in expessially a POW!

Onword:
people at work kept telling me to get on facebook and I finally did a few days ago and look what I have learned in just a few days.
Looking at all the profiles and seeing familiar faces brought back oh so many memories........Strange but nice.

Toni - we are planning on having a tribute to our classmates that we have lost. We will not forget them. They are still all special to us. If any of you have something special that you would like to bring for the tributes that reminds you of our friends that we have lost, please let me know.

In regard to Erika's comment I'm sure there will not be a shortage of blame to go around for issues that arose in the last eight years. Whether a Democrat or Republican is in office as President, when mistakes are made it's funny how so many blame the President almost exclusively for these issues. Poor Presidential policies do add fuel to the fire however, when our country experiences rough spots there exist so many more reasons as to "why" than just blaming things on one person alone. In terms of the upcomming inauguration although I didn't vote for Obama I'm proud that history has been made with him being elected. I hope he does well because if he does, we are all much better off.

Dont get me wrong...I am exited to be a part of what is happening right now. To be a part of this history is great.....

So I was thinking about what memory stands out the most of my "school years"...You will have to go back to Canyon Creek Elementary for this one.
It was either 5th or 6th grade. It could have been Mrs Grade's class but this day I beleive there was a young teacher so anyone who remembers this can clarify the details.

Glenn Butcher standing in front of the class reading a individual report we were all doing that day and all of a sudden someone starts throwing spit wads (or little wads of paper) when Glenn turns and looks at the teacher and says "teacher, there are little UFOs flying around in here". The entire class let out bursts of laughter.

For anyone who was there..I hope that brought back a smile :)

I would like to announce the birth of my grandson Boden Alan. He was born at 10:23am on Inauguration day. 8 lbs. 20.5 inches and smart as a whip already!! LOL...I hope I am not the 1st and or only grandpa in this class. Anyway...I don't feel that old or look it....I hope!

Mariana... I agree Utah is #1. President Obama needs to make a College FB Playoff a semi priority...or within the 1st term I would be happy.

I think a tribute or acknowledgement to veterans would be exceptional. I am one myself and while I am very critical of decisions that were made by those in charge...I will never question the decision made by those who chose to serve. I spent some of the best times of my life serving this country. A tear comes to my eye everytime I hear the Anthem. For those who haven't or couldn't serve you just will never know what its like. It defines you. And all any veteran asks for is support for the VA and services like it and the respect a volunteer deserves no matter what the mission, service, facility, or cause. Travis King...from a "disabled veteran"...thank you for every day!

Why is it so hard to keep it short? OH and Brad...I so wanted to discuss things but I just didnt. I would like to hear your views on the Bowl system vs Playoff as a light hearted discussion. That would be fun.

01/20/09 11:07 PM #100

Monique Thogersen (Harkrider)

Congrats Jeff!!!! Enjoy being a grandpa... Now you get to spoil and then give him back!

01/21/09 02:51 AM #101

Brad Vanater

Jeff,
Congrats on the birth of your grandson. Time does fly that's for sure. Bowl system vs. play-off, that would be a very interesting discussion. I like the play-off system because it seems to weed out little by little, until you get down to the most qualified (although sometimes lucky) teams. The bowl system also has its strengths of course. Take it easy.

"... tap, tap, tap..." ",....is this thing on?"

:o) I just want to start out by saying.... Hi !! and... can I help you find something? oh sorry - that one is ingrained...working the retail hell. No, but seriously.
How is everyone? I was checking out your past posts - and you guys are funny/normal/human/personable, etc. for some reason, I don't remember ya'll that way. Now don't get me wrong- the typed word can sometimes be miss interpreted - I ain't trying to be snooty or what not - - I'm just saying. Whatever I may have come across as in highschool - I am now warm, engaging, fun, funny, hilairious at times, sarcastic, fun loving, caring and opinionated - but open to others views.
I can't believe we have such a long list of Missing Classmates- didn't I see a bunch of them on Facebook? The In Memory page brought tears to my eyes.... sad to lose anyone. Some I was aware of ....others... sad suprise.
So anyone that reads this - take care of yourself and others around you - let's try not to lose anyone else!
Ya'll take care and hope to see ya at the reunion!
Peace out. :o)

Tracy is right...we have seen many friends on Facebook that haven't quite found their way over to our site for reunion information.

We need your help. If you are in contact with peeps help direct them here...we want as many people as possible to come to the reunion!

More information about the reunion will be out this Spring. Official registration, costs, activities, etc...

Of course, as Monique has mentioned we are open to ideas if you have them.

The momentum on this site has been great...let's keep it going!

Tracy's message cracked me up. Of course we weren't normal! We were teenagers!!!

ATTENTION CLASSMATES!!!! Heads Up!!!!! I just got off the phone with someone impersonating one of my classmates. Lots of background noise in the call and was a female on the line. She said she was "something" (can't recall first name) and last name Schaeffer. Wanted to know how I've been. Wanted to know if I was going to the reunion. Told her I didn't know who she was. Asked her how she got my phone number. She said from "something" (can't recall first name but was familiar) Moyer and some of my other classmates. I demanded her to tell me whom else of my classmates shared my number.....all she could do was say "Ummmhhhhhh........aaaahhhhhh" so I called her out and said she didn't know jack of any of my friends and that she's impersonating someone. I demanded again which of my classmates gave her my phone number but again all she said was "Uuuummmhhh" and "Aaaahhhhhh". So I told her again to just be honest and tell me who. Before that she was wanting to schedule something with me and talking about a new job she just got which I told her I wasn't interested in. So be VERY careful!!!!! Somehow, someway these cons are getting ahold of our information and calling various classmates impersonating someone. Hope this helps you out. Felt compelled to share with you all right away after it happened as I'm sure I'm not the only one that will experience this annoying event. Guess it helps being married into law enforcement as I'm VERY skeptical of just about everything!!!!! And I'm very careful about sharing my personal information as far as phone number and address.

Yeah this Sarah Schaeffer person reached out to me via email, asked me where I lived, and how I'd been. I told her I didn't remember her, and haven't heard from her again. I asked Shawna and Michelle if they remembered her, they said no as well. So watch out, she may try to contact you through email as well. Now I'm pissed she has my email address.

02/13/09 08:20 PM #107

Clare Graham (Hardesty)

Pissed is an understatement. Unfortunately my children listened to me rip into her. Read her profile on our site here. VERY WIERD!! Sorry guys! I changed my profile not to display my address or phone number for the safety of me and my family due to my husband's line of work, our safety is TOP priority. She must have hacked into this site. Wonder how many classmates she's gotten a hold of. Just be really careful! Career criminals are VERY savy!!

02/13/09 10:13 PM #108

Rachel Crick

Yeah I thought her profile was strange, she did remember that thing about Bot Hell High from the senior breakfast...not sure if she took that from someone else's page. Can we find out if she really is a classmate? I've blocked her email address....but you are right, they are tricky. It worries me. It's so strange. I googled her email address and it comes up in places like forums for people who have been abducted and abused by aliens. I'm going to feel bad if she's really an old classmate, but presenting yourself in a better way would not have caused this worry.

02/14/09 04:35 PM #109

Brad Vanater

Attention all:
That Shaeffer girl left me an email today saying that she's been trying to get ahold of me??? For what reason I have no clue! Never heard of her or seen her before. Be weary definetly!!

02/15/09 06:33 PM #110

Kristi Neil (Gladen)

I looked in our senior yearbook and don't see a Sara Schaefer. I see a Shane Schaefer though. Not quite sure what to make of that.

As for security - I don't blame Claire for removing her phone number, etc. from this site. I've never put in personal information on any of those social sites (Classmates, Facebook, etc) for that very reason. I had hoped this site was a little safer but I guess not. I did not include my home number here but I did include my hometown. That's about to go.
