Dear Jim...thanks for posting the info about Mike Hyde, one of my 1956 BCHS classmates. A brief and funny remembrance about Mike back in our Senior year. Mike had just received a new Tbird ...the small sporty one...from his Mom . For some reason I was riding with Mike in his new Tbird late at night ...this was unusual because I was not considered one of Mike's closest friends...just a close classmate. We were driving down to Lake Mead on the newly paved...and yet to be lined...blacktop road. The road was curveless and Mike suddenly laughed and turned off the headlights. We drove in pitch black for what felt to me an eternity...but was probably only seconds. He turned the lights back on, we laughed heartedly, and we continued down to Boulder Beach. Its hard to think that just 10 years later he was killed while flying an F100 while defending his country. God Bless all our Vets, living and deceased.
