Life in a nutshell...
While at BHS I spent the majority of my time at one particular end of the school. Either in Arbon's and Gordon's class rooms. During our senior year, to keep me at school, they even created a few classes for me in the art dept. Believe it or not, this included my help in teaching sophmores painting and ceramics. (that art tidbit comes full circle in this diatribe)
After highschool, I finished what I had started during our senior year, and got my BFA at the University of Utah. During that time I quit my job as a full time "hair farmer", harvested the crop, and got a job working for a law firm in SLC as a paralegal. I also got my Dive Master certification. (which didn't require my cutting the locks, and is an unecessary fact, but I love the water and wanted to throw it out there :-)
I was getting a little bored after college, so I moved to Seattle to try something new. After a while, I ended up back at another law firm in Seattle, at which time, I decided it was time to move forward. Took the LSAT, applied, and got into several Law Schools. While trying to decide which school to attend, I started painting again. (something I hadn't done since BHS) When it came time to decide where I was headed for the next few years, I came to realization that I love being creative, and was tired of sitting in front of a computer going blind. I bagged law school. (my parents, weren't as convinced) Moved to San Francisco and did my graduate schooling in art. I received my MFA from Academy of Art, in 3D Animation.
I worked doing CG for film and commercials for a few years, but wasn't satisfied. I had once again, found myself sitting in front of a computer going blind. Only this time it was in a dark room! I continued painting during graduate school and after. So I decided to once again to change professions. I became a full time artist/painter. I did gallery shows, openings, and commissions on both coasts, and in between.
While in the midst of my painting career, I was approached by a production company to be in a documentary in China, called "Sketching The Silk Road". It opened and aired nation wide. We won an "Emmy"! (it must have been ok :-)
I met Jayne (my wife) in SF, and we moved to LA about 4 years ago. We got married last year, and I couldn't be happier! Everything is eventual ;)
Apparently painting wasn't enough for me. I decided to apply my artistic endeavors toward starting a couple of apparel lines. So... I got back in front of a computer, and now here I am rambling. 20/15 vision, and going blind again... :-)
Looking forward to seeing everyone! (if I still can)
