Freddie Brenk passed away September 15, 2021 from COVID-19 in Cistern, Texas where he and his wife, Debbie Loyd Brenk live.  At the time Debbie was in the hospital with COVID pneumonia.  She is now in a Rehabilatation facility gaining strength.  Please keep the Brenk family in your prayers.

Freddie John Brenk, Jr., born December 15th, 1950, in Wharton, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep and joined our Lord on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021.


Freddie was the only son born to Freddie Brenk, Sr. and Lillie Mae Brenk, who preceded him in death. He was also the adored brother to his three sisters: Linda Macon, Patsy Lubojacky, and Carol Wright.


Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Debbie Brenk; adored daughters, Brandye Roland and husband Chris, and Holly Brockman; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaylee and Karsyn Roland and Jacey Brockman. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Macon, Patsy Lubojacky, and Carol Wright, and nephews, Christopher Fabian, Jay Wright, and Patrick Wright, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.


Freddie began working for Dow Chemical when he was 18 and worked for Dow, and later for Huntsman, until his retirement. He also shared his vast knowledge of the chemical plant industry as a teacher/trainer at Brazosport College. 


Throughout his lifetime, Freddie enjoyed many interesting hobbies. He was what many would call a “well-rounded” man. In high school, Freddie served as a Brazosport High School cheerleader, a fact that often surprised those who knew him later in life. During his high school years, he also enjoyed surfing and fast cars. Freddie’s love for vehicles fueled his interest in rebuilding cars. Those who knew him best knew all about the bright orange Jeep he spent many years rebuilding. Freddie also had a passion for deep sea fishing. He spent hours upon hours of solitude fishing from his beloved Boston Whaler many miles offshore. Last, but not least, Freddie loved astronomy. He enjoyed his last few years, staring up at the clear country sky and naming various stars, planets, and constellations. 


Freddie was known by his closest friends for his larger than life personality, his gift of gab, his laid back demeanor, and his genuine, blunt opinions. Freddie was not one to brag, but his friends knew how much he loved and was extremely proud of his daughters and grandchildren. Though showing affection did not come easy for him, Freddie found ways to show them he cared with small acts of love. It’s these little glimmers of his love that his family will miss the most.


The family would like to extend our warmest thanks to all of our friends and family who reached out to us, prayed for us, called us, and sent cards full of encouraging, kind words.
