Mary Collene Broussard DeAses better known to her friends and family as Collene has concluded her time on earth and has moved on to begin her time in Heaven. Collene was born April 12, 1951 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Felix Jay and Shirely Garrison Broussard who reside in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy and is survived by her parents, loving sister Dana Plume and her devoted husband of 22 years
Charles "Chuck" E. DeAses of Austin. Collene also leaves behind
a nephew, niece, numerous relatives, two wonderful grandchildren and her step-son Joshua Nicholas DeAses. Collene was truly everyone's friend and preferred to see only the good in people. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and used those talents to cultivate a long list of close friends. As one of Collene's friends from South Africa would always say "Collene's dinner table and home was like one of those buses in South Africa where there was always room for one more". Collene will be missed and remembered for her caring personality, radiant smile, joyful spirit and classy good looks. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Austin for all of their loving assistance in providing Collene a quality of life up to the end. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donation be made to Hospice of Austin so that their work can continue to help others much as they helped Collene. The family also wishes to thank the outstanding members of Seton Hospital (38th Street) 7th floor oncology staff for taking care of our Angel in a loving an professional manner.
