Note by 1969 class: Randy was an amazing swimmer, showing the all time fastest swim times at BHS. Forty years later, Randy is still ranked in the top 10 in three events. Pretty amazing. We will miss you Randy.

Randy's Mother came to the reunion planning meeting last Sunday (5/31/09). She saw the notice in the Brazosport Facts and she wants to do something in memory of Randy. She and Mr. Crosley donated a $100 in cash as a prize to the classmate that travels the fartherest to attend the reunion. She said they do this for her daughter, Claire's, class, too. I called her last night to ask about Randy. She said that Randy was diagnosed with Addison's disease when he was 22 years old and cortisone became a maintenance medication. She was so proud of his swimming record and said that he still swam even with his health issues. He went to the Aggie bonfire in November 2000 and it was very, very cold. As a result he developed a lung disease that he couldn't shake. She said he died suddenly the following March.
