I met Glynn in about 3rd grade when we were both piano students of Mrs. Thomas in Freeport. Fond memories of many piano recitals and other times together throughout school. A good friend who was from a good family. Glynn, you will be missed.
Glynn was one of the few people I have known that was truly a gentleman and a scholar. His gentle spirit enriched my life in many ways. We spent Sundays together throughout Junior High and High School at First Presbyterian Church in Freeport and made several memorable trips to Mo Ranch in the Hill Country. His parents were our leaders and both taught our group so much about life and faith. Glynn Irby, I am so grateful you were part of my life!
I've known Glynn for more than 58 years. He's always been the kind of guy you could talk to without him ever being critical. God created such a gentle soul. So sweet and kind to everyone he knew and met. He was not only a member of the class of 1969. He was also a member of the "Clute Kids, Class of 1966." Our 9th grade class of Clute Junior High School always met together whether in Kerrville, TX (bandcamp), Canton, or in a restaurant in the Brazosport area. Glynn always came to visit his lifelong friends. We all still stay in contact thanks to social media. Last year, the Clute Junior High Classes from 1960 - 1969 had a fantastic reunion and we were all so happy to see Glynn. You will be missed "007" (my nickname for him) by all of us. Go fly high and continue your extrodinary talents. I will miss your poetry and photography.
