William Terrell Manasco, 68 of Lake Jackson, TX passed on January 9, 2019. Terrell was born to Marlin and Cornelia Manasco on September 12, 1950 in Haleyville, AL. Terrell was enjoying life being retired from The Dow Chemical Company where he worked for 38 years and retired in 2012. Terrell Manasco was an accomplished teacher and Grand Master in Chinese martial arts. He began his martial arts journey by attending different schools, ultimately settling on Nei Wai Chia Martial Arts Academy in 1998. He trained with Sigung Dan Suchon, Sijo Larry Sanders, and many other Master and Grandmaster teachers in the traditional Chinese arts, including Yang and Sun style tai chi and Bok Pai Shaolin Iron Palm. Through dedication he achieved the Nei Wai Chia rank of 5th degree black sash teaching tai chi, iron palm, and the other styles to hundreds of students at the academy and around the country.

Terrell’s love of and skills in iron palm grew and in March of 2000, he became a Certified Iron Palm Practitioner, Iron Palm International, by Grandmaster Brian Gray. He was later promoted to the rank of Master of the Iron Palm Skills, and in 2015 was given the highest honor of Grandmaster of the Iron Palm and recognized as one of the elite iron palm practitioners in the world.

Terrell was featured in a popular selling issue of Inside Kung Fu and a 2-time inductee into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. In 2016 he was honored by the Martial Arts Hall of Fame with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be missed by his students and teachers alike.

Terrell is preceded in death by his father Marlin, his mother Cornelia and his brother Ralph Manasco. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents Mayo and Beatrice Barton of Lynn, AL also John Harvey and Lillie Manasco of Nauvoo, AL. Terrell is survived by his sister Pam Earnest and her husband Alan Earnest. His daughter Jennifer Ainsworth and her husband Tommy Ainsworth. His son Brent Manasco and his wife Amber Manasco. Also, his grandchildren Ashleigh Manasco, Hanna Manasco, Bailey Manasco, Sheldon Manasco, Kayla Ainsworth and Trevor Ainsworth.
