Melinda McBride Haviland, 61, of Lake Jackson passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the New Beginnings Church with Pastor John Haynes officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations to New Beginnings Church, 400 N Dixie Drive; Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.

I just saw Melinda with her husband at The Grape Taste friday a week ago...she looked beautiful in a bright coral blouse and she looked happy. We stopped by and visited briefly before seating ourselves. I never would have known she was having problems and my heart and prayers go out to her husband and children and family. It seems we get cheated out of time sometimes and nothing helps to ease the pain of losing those lost except God's spiritual touch on us and the knowledge that our loved ones rest in his loving hands, heart and memory. We keep the wonderful memories our loved ones gave us and leave all else to God....who is able to comfort us with a comfort no/none others can give.
