I have such fond memories of Linda and Glenda. They were the sweetest girls and befriended me when I moved to Oyster Creek in third grade. We had great fun growing up in this small community as “country girls.” We spent countless hours roaming and exploring the wooded area behind their house and being tomboys. It was a wonderful, innocent time when you could leave home in the morning, not see your parents until suppertime, and they never worried. We attended church, GAs, summer camp, Vacation Bible School, sleepovers; rode the bus together and passed notes at school. They both died too young, and I miss their sweet smiles. I plan to see them both one day in Heaven. We have a lot of catching up.

Linda had a son before she died, but I don't know what his name is. I think her older sister raised him.

Linda and I first became classmates when we attended Freeport Junior High. During high school and for a year or so after that, she and I worked together at Swann’s Western Auto in Freeport. She was a very sweet girl, and all of the employees at Western Auto were crazy about Linda. After high school, Linda and I dated a few times. What a personality she had; and like Becky mentioned, her smile was unforgettable. She and Glenda both died way too soon, and I miss them both.
