DECEMBER 28, 1950 – NOVEMBER 14, 2020

On Saturday, November 14th, 2020 Rhonda Colleen Murphy Poje, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt went to be with the Lord at the age of 69.

Our loving mother was born on December 28, 1950 in Freeport, TX to Francis Melvin "FM" "Papa" Murphy and Dorothy "Mimi" Murphy. She attended the University of Texas until leaving for her forever dream job as a flight attendant with Delta where she worked until retiring after almost 48 years in August 2020. She and her ex-husband, William Poje, raised two children, Natalie and Eric - the greatest loves of her life.

Rhonda loved life beyond measure - flying all around the world, meeting new friends and experiencing a life most only dream of. She loved her family and friends all of whom would describe her as the life of the party. She loved celebrating holidays and big life events going out to dinner and live shows. Her favorite thing was going to the orchestra as she grew up playing the French horn and performing as a majorette in the marching band.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Francis Murphy. She is survived by her mother - Dorothy Murphy - the love of her life - William Poje - her two children and their spouses - Natalie & Tim Fletcher and Eric & Katherine Poje - her stepsons - Christopher Poje (Stephanie) and Matthew Poje (Dedee) - her sisters - Karen Murphy, Darla Phillips (Jackie), Dawn Yntema, and Scarlet Hoogakker (Doug) - her 3 grandchildren - Dylan, Devon & Derek Fletcher - 6 step-grandchildren, 2 step-greatgrandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 21st, 2020 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home on Stone Mountain Highway from 11am-3pm followed by a memorial service for family and close friends at 3pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations to charity for children and those less fortunate be made in Rhonda's honor.
