Daniel Pyka

Daniel Wade Pyka November 28, 1949 – June 28, 2020

Daniel “Dan” Pyka, 70, of Jones Creek, Texas went to be with his Savior on June 28, 2020. Dan is survived by his children, Justin (Renee), Blake (Jackie); and four grandchildren; sister, Darlene Pyka Metts (Richard); sister-in-law, Betty Byrd; and his loving companion, Buckshot. Dan was predeceased by his parents, John and Jewel Pyka; brothers, Butch Pyka and Alfred Byrd. He was raised in Freeport and graduated from BHS in 1969. He worked in law enforcement till he retired in 2015. Dan was voted as Officer of The Year in 1975 by the Ft. Bend County S.O. and again in 2006 by the Brazoria County S.O. Law enforcement was his passion in life. He was a very respected and honorable officer. Dan also enjoyed being a fishing guide and doing cowboy work at the Briscoe Ranch. Dan was big in stature but had a heart of gold, always caring about others. Now for his real loves fishing, hunting, dancing and country music. Dan spent many hours with his friends in his boat. Dan will be missed by so many. Just to mention a few special friends, John Blankenship, David Mink, Varon Snelgrove, Larry Stanley, Tommy and Desiree Pearson, Kenny Hayes, Brett Robertson and Stacy Powell. Tight lines our dear friend will never be forgotten, always in our hearts. His ashes were released in his favorite fishing spot.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Danny was always such a sweet person to me in school & the few times I saw him in the Lake Jackson area through the years. I remember him always smiling at school. Sending prayers for his family & close friends.🙏🙏🙏💞
