Paulette J. Russek passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Brazosport Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 60. She was born October 26, 1950, in Freeport, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, with a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Graveside services will be at City Cemetery in Schulenberg, Texas.

Paulette is survived by her twin sister Pamela Javior and husband, Ervin of San Antonion, Patricia Beseda of Harker Heights, Cynthia Wendel and husband Milton of Danbury, Mary Arrants and husband George of Lake Jackson and brother Patrick Russek and wife Gertrude of Katy and James and Wife Helen of Pearland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paulette is preceeded in death by her parents, Louis and Bernice Russek.

 

Paulette attended St.Mary’s Catholic School in Freeport, Texas, from grades 1-8, Lake Jackson Junior High and graduated from Brazosport High School in 1969. Paulette graduated from Brazosport College with an Associate’s Degree and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics in 1973. Paulette was self empolyed as a seamstress most of her life. Her talents in that area were appreciated by many.

Paulette served her family, friends and community for many years. Paulette was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she served on the Parish Council and was the leader of the Art and Environment Committee for 14 years. Paulette was a charter member of The Plantation Quilting Guild and a volunteer for the Host Reading Program at Lake Jackson Intermediate. Paulette’s love of sewing led her to a career as a seamstress where she met and made many friends over the years.

Paulette always was  willing to go out her way to help others. Her life was truly one of service. Paulette was a caregiver for both her mother and father until she herself became ill. Her illness never changed her willingness to help others and trying to do what she could for them. She was always there for everyone. She will be missed by many.
