Marvin Willis

Marvin Joe Willis, 73 of Lake Jackson, Texas entered his Heavenly home on Friday October 4, 2024. He was born in Freeport, Texas to Joe Willis and F. Myrtle Tumlinson Willis on November 19, 1950. He was a lifelong resident of Brazoria County, retiring from DOW Chemical. In his early years, Marvin welcomed his two daughters Michele and Tonya before meeting and marrying the love of his life, Ruby Auer. Ruby came as a package deal with two bonus children, Ronda and Kenny. Marvin and Ruby were happily married for 42 years and created a lifetime of memories together. Some of the best times were spent traveling and spending time with his family, which he cherished immensely. Marvin and Ruby were members of Emmanuel Baptist church in Clute, Texas.
Marvin leaves behind to cherish his sweet memory: Wife, Ruby ; Daughters, Michele(Charly) Cowger, Tonya(Steven) Epperley and Ronda(Bubba) Mitchell, and son, Kenneth Mitchell : Grandchildren, Timothy Strother, Danielle(Matt) Lacefield, Marlayna Mitchell, Dylan(Kaely) Miller, Dustin(Jade) Miller, Brandon Nichols and Nathan Leal : Great Grandchildren(by far his favorite!) Kashton Lacefield, Emmie Miller and Sayler Miller.
Marvin is preceded in death by his father Joe Willis : Mother – F. Myrtle Willis, Sister- Joyce Hall, Sister – Linda Strother, Sister-in-Love, Gennivie Krenek : Brother-in-Love, Joe Auer and many other cherished family members.
The service to honor and celebrate Marvin's life will be held on October 7, 2024 at 5:00pm, with visitation to begin for family at 3:00pm and for all others who loved him at 4:00pm at Stroud Funeral home in Clute, Tx. There will be no gravesite services. Marvin will be remembered for his love of life and family and his sweet demeanor towards anyone he met.
