Born June 6, 1923 and died June 5, 1997

O. V. Chafin was survived by son Scott Charin, daughters, Susan Chafin Jones and Sandy Chafin Gregory.  Also, Tom Chafin and Kimi Chafin Lourigan.  Dad was assistant princicpal at BHS and touched many lives as a coach, educator, dad, granddad, uncle, numerous students and friends.  He had a Masters Degree and all but dissertation for his Ed. D. from Texas A & M.  He was always a life long learner and wa especially a mathematician.  He challenged his students including me as I was in his Algebra 2 class.  He also loved his retirement in Georgetown, Texas, taking care of his mother.  His wife, Norma, who died of cancer in 2004, was the love of his life!
