After graduation, I went to Bremerton Business College and ended up working in Seattle as a marketing secretary. In 1978, I joined the Army, spending 3 years in the Washington D.C. area as a classified materials courier to the Pentagon. During my military term, I met my husband, started a degree program at Northern Virginia, and got married. My husband had already left for California, and I joined him in 1981 once I was discharged, living at Beale Air Force Base, Marysville, CA. I ended up working for the County of Yuba, first as an Economic Development practitioner, and then and now as Airport Manager for Yuba County Airport, a general aviation airport, in which I manage the field, operations, and 8 industrial parks. I continue to hold my economic development hat as Director of the Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone, a tax credit benefit area for 2 counties and 6 cities. My daughter (25) just got married and my son (24) after graduating and struggling to find a spot in major league baseball, a long time aspiring player, is now pursuing a welding career in Oklahoma. With the kids out and tackling a major home remodel, my 4 cats and husband, Dave, for 30 years, make up the family, living in beautiful and sunny Live Oak, California.
