Comments:

So many years since BHS, well here goes: I went to college (the first time) for one grand and glorious semester and then dropped out to seek my fame and fortune on The Great White Way. Did an Off-Broadway musical that spring (1971) then landed back in Boston in the fall for a number of theatrical projects leading up to a significant "break" landing Ruckley in the Boston company of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Went on to play Martini (Danny Devito played him in the Movie) in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and 2 national tours. On the last tour in 1975 I met Judi (my wife of 30 years)in Philadelphia. Over the next four years we had an interesting courtship which included not seeing each othe for 15 months. Meanwhile my acting career continued including several small and very small roles in film and telvision, a number of Off-Off Broadway productions, a couple of Off B'way productions and understudying 2 shows on B'way. Did I mention waiting tables and tending bar? In 1979 upon turning down the national tour of "Dracula", I had understudied Renfield on B'way, I realized I better find another profession. Judi and I got married and I went back to school, completed my undergraduate degree and Physical Therapy program and moved out to NJ where I began my new career and we started our family. Actually we jumped the gun on the family thing, Josh was born when I was still in PT School (1981). The theatre became part of my past as I concentrated on building my practice and building our family, Ben in 1985, doing all those suburban things like coaching little league and soccer and cub scouts and the like. Then "it" happened.....both of my sons had inherited the theatre gene. It had shown early signs, but like many parents we were in denial........then it was too late! In 1994 I took them to an audition at a small theater in NJ for a children's show. I didn't realize that they were looking for adult actors. Well, my kids convinced me to audition too, I figured if one of them were cast I might be able to do something other than just schlep and hang around. Well, the most miraculous thing happened: we were all cast. There is nothing like being on the stage with your kids! And just like that I was back at it again. Since then I have acted, directed, designed, built and written many shows. My wife got into the act and has become an exceptional stage manager and producer. My kids have now flown the coop, Josh is a theatrical sound designer, currently working in NYC (and recently Bejing) and Ben is an actor, dancer, singer, composer, etc. in the city debuting on Broadway Boq in "Wicked" at theGershwin Theater in 2007 and now on the first national tour. Currrently I am the Production Manager of Studio Playhouse in Montclair, NJ where I act, write, direct, design and build sets. My wife, Judi, is on the board of managers and is a stage manager among other things. As far as my career as a physical therapist goes I picked up a PhD along the way and now I work with children with profound developmental disabilities. I run a hippotherapy program (therapy on horseback) and have developed a theatre program for this population as well. Life is treating me very well, I am incredibly blessed with a magnificent family, a wonderful home complete with a fireplace and a dog and a cat to lay by it, loving friends and two wonderful careers. To top it all off: the RED SOX won the World Series twice! As great as that is in Boston, you can't begin to imagine how wonderful it feels down here in the heart of Yankee country! I may sound like I'm on drugs, but actually I gave them up years ago. I would love to here from all from distant past at BHS. I did lose my Murivian in a house fire so I don't have a visual reference for all you wonderful people, so I encourage you to include photos. And if you're in the neighborhood let's......

I will be traveling to Park City, Ut on 8/14 and then moving on to Sedona, Az on 8/22.
Life remains a grand and exciting adventure with lots to do and new things to taste.
I look forward to being with you back in Brookline in October.

It's been quite a while since I updated this page. I continue working as a pediatric physical therapist by day and doing theatre at night. I have posted a picture from my latest production, "Stop Kiss." I directed and designed this one and have been blessed with a brilliant cast and magnificent crew. Such has been my lot in life - I have had the opportunity to do what I love with some special people. Unfortunately, I will not make the 45th, however I will be on Cape Cod over July 4th weekend if anyone is in the vicinity. I'm coming up to see my son Ben and his lady at the Cape Playhouse in "The Drowsy Chaperone". Let me know if you're going to be in the neighborhood - let's have a drink.

2/24/19: While my wife and I contemplate retirement (which is more like going back to the theatre full time) I continue to work by day as a pediatric Physical Therapist. My night's are full of theatre. Mostly as a playwright and director all though I do occasionally still get on the stage or in front of a camera. You can google "Momtress" which is an Indie Internet Series which has been doing well at some film festivals. It looks like the fall is going to be busy with the premier of my latest play "Complete Game" in New Jersey and a tour of the tri-state area with "Wiesenthal" which I am directing, and still taking to producers about a production "The Foxhole" in New York. In the mean time I am enjoying my sons' Josh and Ben's success in the business. Last Sunday I went to "We are the Tigers" for which he designed the sound and then on Thursday night it was the opening night for the Joel Gray production of "Fiddler on the Roof" in Yiddish in which my son Ben is playing Motl Kamzoil. The we got to enjoy the festivities at Sardi's afterward (note the picture of me hanging with my bud Kermit. Ben got married to wonderful woman in July 2017. If you like emotional reality TV go on YouTube, Ben Liebert, "The Amazing Race". If you don't think it was worth the 30 minutes, contact me and I'll give you your half hour back. I'm tired of typing, I'd rather chat. Call me or if you're in the New York City are contact me and we can get together for a drink.
On July1, 2021 I retired from my career as a Physical Therapist and moved to Lake Worth, Florida. I continue to work in the theatre.

School Story:

Forgive me if I wax philosophic. There were some good times. All those plays AND cast parties, hanging out in the Sag office, skipping out to lunch at my house or the Pewter Pot and my friends. Ah, my friends! I managed to surround myself with so many different wonderful, caring people and I will always be grateful to them. Their support helped that troubled, sad, angry and lost boy that I was through to graduation and beyond. Maybe that's just the definition of adolescence, I don't know, you tell me. Sometimes I just marvel at the fact that I survived. From day one of BHS when I got high for the first time behind the old gym, I was stoned or tripping or whatever for much of the next several years. A lot of self destructive behavior. Of course I wouldn't change a thing even if I could, because I believe all of that brought me to where I am today and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. However, if I was unkind or thoughtless to anyone along the way I am truly sorry. Those were certainly not my glory days. ( I'm allowed to quote Springsteen, I've lived in Jersey for 28 years.) It's interesting to reminisce, while I think of high school as my dark days, I have a great fondness for the people I encountered along the way. I look forward to sharing an evening with you at the reunion.
