Did not know you lived so close by Dick Mooshie.....I live in Conway, SC...but Georgetown got hit alot harder...glad all is well with you. Our backyard flooded to the foundation and our road flooded halfway up our front lawn....some yard work to do when it dries out but no damage to our house. We are thankful we dodged another storm (we were here for Floyd). Prayers for all who have damaged homes.

Does anyone have any contact with Chuck Shields?  He has several siblings, I think Mark & Mike?? His sister Sandy??  The last time I ran into him, he was working for a car dealership on Delaware Ave. and he said he was going to move to Florida.

She was my homeroom teacher on the 4th floor. She gave me 2 weeks detention for talking in class. Imagine that. What would they do to me today for such an offense?

I had an excellent English teacher in senior year who was pregnant and didn't come back after Christmas break. Would that have been her?

Ron Wheeler

70th Birthday party is scheduled for August 6th, the day after the Friday night Alumni Tent party at the Dome Restaurant in Tonawanda. The tent party is open to anyone who ever attended Kenmore or Kenmore West and a guest.

The 70th Birthday party is open only to the class of '64 and a guest. More news will follow shortly on this site about the 70th party.

We expect a great turnout at both events.

Class of '64 -- I received this email today from a person looking for information about Denny.

From:  Ron Eggleton
Email:  ron@xleggs.com

Hi, My name Ron Eggleton, I was born in 1967 in Kenmore. My mom's cousin was Dennis Bell who graduated and died in 1964. I've been looking for information about him as part of my personal family history project. BTW, my parents met while both teaching at Hoover Jr, and they both taught at West for some time too. My dad still worked there when he died in 1982. My brother and I were both students at KW at that time. Any info would be appreciated, Ron Eggleton

If any of you would like to respond I'm sure he'd appreciate hearing from you.

Doug, Harry was born on July 4th, 1946 and died on April 6, 1968, 3 weeks after I left Danang.  He was a Navy corpsman.  His picture and medals are on display at the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 77 museum on Main St. in the City of Tonawanda.  He is buried in the cemetary on the east side of Elmwood Ave. at Knocke Rd. I have a rubbing of his name that I made at the DC Memorial. There was a story in the Tonawanda News in the '80's that his mother was unable to locate his grave to place a flag on Memorial Day because it was overgrown with grass and she could no longer physically maintain it.  Several vets and I went there, located it, placed a flag and flowers and presented a picture of it to his mother.  There is no raised headstone - it's a flat plaque at the head of the burial site.  Maybe some classmates could locate it again, clean it up some and put a flag on for this Memorial Day.  I moved to East Tennessee about 14 years ago and won't be back in time to do it myself.  Take care,

Frank Vollmer
