John Burniston

I'm very sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, but Ray Hennessy had a series of heart attacks last Thursday and passed away after 8 hours of surgery.  Condolences to his wife of 50+ years, Kathy, and their five children.  He was a great guy, a terrific friend, and the best teammate a guy could ask for. He will be missed.  Rest in peace, my friend......

Ray Hennessy and I met at St. John the Baptist grade school many years ago. He was one of the tall guys as was I so usually we sat next to each other in class. During confirmation, when we were in sixth grade Ray and I were horsing around in class, and we heard the clickity clack of the nuns rosary beads that they wore, coming down the isle. Knowing that we were about to get whacked, Ray and I ducked and the taped yardstick struck Ross McKee's new confirmation watch (Ross sat behind us), and exploded into a million pieces. Ray and I looked at each other and started to laugh uncontrollably. The kind of laugh that you know you should be serious, but just couldn't control. Ross however, did not think it was funny which only made matters worse. Ray and I by this time were doubled over laughing so hard, while getting whacked repetetedly with the yardstick. I have told this story countless times over the years and laughed again each time. Ray was a great guy and great athlete. I will miss his laugh and his huge smile. Like Bonnie said, he was one of the great one's. RIP Ray, and save my seat next to you so we can laugh again.... John Flynn.

Hi all!  Just received notice from my international fraternity headquarters that Ginny Anderson (Graziano) passed away on 12/30/14.  Many of us went to UB with Ginny, she and I pledged the same sorority.  Last I heard many years ago - she was living in Marion, Illinois.  She was a wild child back in the day - but a we did have a lot of fun.

Best to all.  See ya in August.

I was so disapointed when I couldn't make the 50th.....I was awaiting surgery and could not travel. But thanks to this forum I hooked up again with my KW BFF Ann Coleman. I came up to NY last summer and we had our own reunion. So I am looking forward to spending time with her and hooking up with some more old friends. I am grateful that this is taking place. Can't wait to see everyone.

To answer Colleen's question, we are expecting at least 60 people, and maybe some walk-ins. It should be a good time.

Nice pics guys from the festivities. Three things. Is Mioducki in a stupor and wandering down the street or has he decided not to cook anymore? Patti--did you cram for finals to get that diploma? And why did anyone allow Burniston to tend to the beer cooler? Bad move.

Sorry I wasn't there.

Dick, I had a lot of trouble with that Earth Science Exam. Took me all these years to finally pass it. Also after all these years I finally saved enough to go on a vacation to Lackawanna.

Great pictures from the 70th Birthday party.  I really still enjoy all the posts that are on this blog.  I am sorry that I missed the Birthday party- I had too many things going on so could not make it to Buffalo at that time.  I will be in Buffalo this coming week, however.  It was just bad timing for me.  I was just too busy with things around here and keeping up with my bike rides (I put on over 1600 miles the last two months).  I hope there maybe some gatherings in the future that I can make.

Dave Thornton from Duluth, Mn.

Great pictures from the Birthday Party!!  So sorry I wasn't able to be there but was definitely there in spirit!  My husband thought I was crazy when Lynda called and I sang "Happy Birthday" with you all.  It was great to be able to talk to so many of you who attended.  Keep up the good work!!  One of these days I will return and we can party all over again.

Doug Wilson, Congratulations on finishing your first triathlon Saturday - one half mile swim in Lake Ontario, twelve mile bike ride and five kilometer run!  Not bad for a 70 year old former Kenmore West cross country and track man.  Very well done!  Word on the track is that the only guy in your age group who beat you finished fifth in the world championships!  Your old Blue Devil teammates are proud of you!
