To all , was such a fun night once again at our big birthday bash ! And is again a loss of more friends ! Ed Solomon wanted so much to be at the party, he had sent several messages that he was looking forward to being there with us !  Our time here on earth is not our own , we never know when we will be called home !

So for now I wish you all good health and sunny days ahead to enjoy life as we should , we will just have to do something again  to stay in touch ! So keep checking on our site to see if there are ways to meet again in the future , we are open to suggestion ! Til we meet again be safe and may the Lord bestow many blessings on you all !  And keep you safe from harm ! Nanc

My husband and I both enjoyed the Birthday Bash in August.  Thanks to all for the planning and hard work. I was unable to attend the 50th as I was awaiting surgery. The party helped sqaush my disappointment. This forum is such a great way to keep in touch and I look forward to attending future gatherings.....Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise. In the meantime my good friend Ann Coleman Oelheim and I still keep in touch and plan more get togethers.  Thanks for providing the opportunity for us to reconnect. My deepest regrets to Ed Solomon's family for their loss.

Nancy and Colleen couldn't have said it better.  The birthday party was such fun....so happy we went.  If we could figure out a way to do this every couple of years while we can, I'm in, and am willing to pitch in on the planning.  The Class of '64 was the best....I doubt any before or since have the same rapport.  May each of you stay healthy this year, have a great winter and holiday season ahead, and keep posting on this forum!

53 years ago today was the event we will all remember for the rest of our lives. Thanks to Barb and Bev and Jan, many of us were looking forward to the show that evening with excitement and fear rolled into one. Then the news came over the P.A. and our world stopped spinning. A senseless crime, but the country united and got through the ordeal. Mr. Starr and Miss Nalepa "suggested" that we not cancel the show, so we took a vote and went along with the suggestion. It was a magical and there was nary a dry eye in the cast and in the audience.

West High Story was not just a show, it was a tribute and a damn good one.

I remember being in study hall when the announcement came over the PA.  We were all is shock.  It was so surreal.  My husband's cousin had been following JFK as a photo journalist.  He published books on both John and Robert Kennedy.

I remember being in Mr. Conn's history class when the announcement came over the PA system. We were excused from class to go home. The halls were in dead silence and you did'nt even hear a locker door slam.

It was a sobering time that no one of our generation will ever forget.

I remember being in Mr Barnah's history class when the announcement went out on the PA. Class was in shock, Mr Barnah put his head down and was visibly crying as where many in the class. I have not thought a that moment for years.

I was also in Mr. Barna's history class when the announcement came over the p.a. re/ the president being shot. I remember Mr. Barna crying and not being able to continue.

I was in that classroom with Gary and Mary Ann to see the immediate reaction of Mr. Barna after the PA announcement.  To witness the pure grief of such a hulking, tough man is as graphic an image for me as the TV images from the days that followed.  I feel that an age of innocence ended that day for many of us.

Happy New Year to all ! Let's hope and pray as we enter this new year with hope and more peace that we all have good health and can make more wonderful new memories  that will give us something to look forward to !

it was a tough year for all of us as we lost way too May friends and family ! It is not the world we knew growing up years ago , but one that has uncertainty from day to day that the respect for life is not the same ! We were a great generation and did so much to show that we care about one another and made so many great memories , that we all still remember to this day ! It has been wonderful meeting back up with friends we grew up with and being able to no only talk to each other but to see them once again too ! We never know where our paths will lead us , everyday is a gift we need to share with not only our families but with the great friends we have had the chance to meet once again . Best wishes for a great year for you all and my God Bless you all and keep you safe from harm ! Look forward to see as many as possible at the picnic this summer to once again renew our friendships !

Good heavens. Birthdays for Bonnie Kronson and Carol and Karen Smith and Trudy Luther all within days of each other. Things a little slow for your parents the previous April? Hmmmm? Anyway, welcome to the next decade youz guyz.

For all youz guyz still in New York, you're going to miss the eclipse of our lifetime because you're

not living in God's country, AKA North Carolina. I'll be in Brevard, NC tomorrow watching the 2 minute

totality and then will try to fight the traffic going home. I recall an eclipse in Kenmore during the

summer of 62, but I don't think it was a total one. Anyway, if you see it on the tube, think of me

watching it live.

Greg Robins

Hello Readers....Classmates...from Greg Robins in The Great Inland Empire of Southern California.  We viewed the 'partial' Solar Eclipse view from our cul-de-sac this morning, passing around the approved viewing glasses to anyone who attended.  It was very cool....Blessings to all....How do you like my kilt?

In Central Michigan we got to see 81%.  It was a nice experience.  Our library handed out 200 pairs of the "eclipse glasses" at noon today for a 1pm start..  I was at the end of the line, there were only three pair left when I got mine.  Spent 2 hours driving around town letting friends have a quick look.  It was fun!  Saw the TV coverage of the total eclipse path.  That looked really amazing.

God's country also includes Tennessee! Molly Pearson Kelly and I have been on a 10 day girls road trip that ended at my home near Murfreesboro Tennessee. We watched the TOTAL eclipse in a nearby National Battlefield and had no traffic going home. Partial or full, it is still a wonderful experience.

I am vacationing in Ocean City, NJ. We got to see a partial eclipse. Just amazing. So glad I got to enjoy this expexperience.

We were with oune son at the base of Mt Blanc in the French Alps yesterday so there was no eclipse but our kids in MN, MS, AL and CO kept us informed:)  I'm pretty sure God's  country is here also:)

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy the Total Eclipse from our Granddaughter's front yard.  Sitting in lawn chairs with our Granddaughter & her hubby & our new (first) Great Granddaughter in her buggy, we all were moved by the total eclipse and the cool down from very warm to very comfortable while we watch.

We had about 62% in Buffalo but we're in line for the next eclipse in 2024.  It's going to be another total eclipse according to the news and should be quite a sight.
