Hey Everyone!

Ok now! Here's the deal...I was only at Buford for two years and it sounds like I missed a whole lot. But the 2 years I was there I loved. You guys are so silly. I haven't stopped laughing yet from reading your messages. I definitely remember Ms. Coley and her Spanish Class. I think she wore a different hair do every day of the school year. Come to find out....my husband was friends with her family growing up in south GA...what a small world!
The Senior Trip was a blast! OMG....Delores...what did you and Joey do? I'm so shocked! LOL! It was all good back then. I'm not telling any of my secrets on the Senior Cruise but I have some sweet memories!
Can't wait to see everyone and I'm glad to see that all are doing so well. Hope to see you soon!

I am VERY GLAD to see that everyone seems to be liking this website! If I would've known that this would've worked so well, I would've put this up years ago! Better late than never! The great part about it is that we can use this website year after year as a focal point for our following reunions to come! For now, have fun and enjoy the site and don't forget to give me your ideas for the reunion and what you would like to do. ALSO, if you see someone on here that has not responded yet, SPREAD THE WORD and get this site info out there!

Also, I could use some help. During my travels, I can't seem to find any of my yearbooks. They may be up in my parent's attic but so is Capone, and I ain't going up there! Does anyone have them all? (Or at least from 7th grade) I would love to borrow and scan some photos and have some fun 'games' for us to play at the reunion!

I am getting more excited by the day with the response I am getting here already. Who knows, there may be a few friendships that will be restarted from this!

I love you guys! Oh my goodness. The trouble we could have 'really' gotten into! I do thank God that He watched over each and every one of us. He truly poured out His mercy and grace! He protected us when we knew that we were doing wrong and He chose to cover us anyway. That's the true love of a Father! All of you that have preteens and teens need to remember that! These years will test you! And all of you that partied...a lot...just wait. You will reap what you sow! I think I quoted that one to Chris already! Pray over them kids. It will be worth it! Talk to you later.

Hey Dave-
I have all of my yearbooks 1981-1988.
You ought to see some of those pictures!
My daughter gets a kick out of looking at them :)

I am getting very scared with all of the talk of the pictures. I recommend a screening before these are released to the public :>)

Natalie..you're not kidding! I found some snapshots of some of our classmen...including myself! Holy cow! My son laughs his butt off every time he sees them! Can anyone tell my WHY the perm was so popular back then? MMM, MMM, MMM! Tell me why! BIG IDEAS, BIG HAIR...maybe 'they' thought there was some kind of connection! I can only laugh at myself!

Delores,
About the boys in our class being afraid of you...my Mother relayed a story about you that just sums things up. The first time my Mom saw you was at Carson Smith's house. We were working on the float there athat year (Iforget which year that was 9th grade?) Anyway, she told me this little guy (Craig Shoemake) came running around the house being chased by you. She said you body slammed him in front of the car. He got up and announced he was not ready for girls. Yeah, I think a few of the guys were afraid of you.

Senoirta Coley,

I have seen a lot of chatter about good ole Ms. Coley but no one has mentioned the pig's leg Doona Moore hacked off her Biology project and flung onto her desk! I love to tell that story to my fourth graders they think it is hysterical. (It goes with my you can't try anything I haven't already seen lecture-although I have to admit they have...) Another Ms. Coley story who remebers the wig she used to wear...but never managed to put on straight!

Guys, I have really enjoyed reading everything. I have to admit I have dusted off the annuals and took a stroll down memory lane. I have this site bookmarked and check it daily. Dave thanks for the work! One question: DO PINK COWS STILL GIVE ORANGE MILK?

I do miss and love you all! The memories we share are priceless and I am thankful to have had you all pass through my life. I still wear the Green and Gold with PRIDE!

Everyone in my yearbooks, especially myself, have been made fun of by my daughter and her friends! I kind of got offended :). They did actually say some nice things.
It's all good. They are so much fun!

Erica, thanks for the story, but i have to be honest, i don't remember that part...i do remember working on the float over at Carson's house though. But just for the record, Craig...man, i'm sorry! lol! i'm sure it was in fun and games. my dad raised me with wcw wrestling...i learned all my moves from channel 17! lol! i'll never get to live that reputation down...thanks Chris, Erica! lol! Talk to you guys soon.

I've sat here and read over some of the memories and laughed. I was the quiet, shy one. My kids sure don't believe me now when I tell them that! Of course, I also tell them I never disobeyed my mother, cleaned my room and walked 20 miles uphill both ways to school, barefoot. My oldest son actually asked me once if they had cars when I was little.

Anyone remember how sweet and innocent I was??? Never a bad word, grade, temper?? I knew you guys would remember me as the shy kid with a MULLET!!

Chris-
I have one word for that. NOT!
If you find someone to back that up, I'll give you a dollar!!!

Love ya Chris!!!!

I can't wait to see everyone together again & talk/laugh about the good ole days & also to share stories about how far life has brought us. Starla Smith (Johnson)

Wow....I knew this would be fun reading everyone's posts....but way more fun!!!! Why didn't I go on the senior class trip....don't even remember the senior class trip. I guess I was way tooo in love with Sandy back then, huh? I sure would go on one now....Chris, set that up, my friend, I'm there!!!!

I have a suggestion for the Reunion. I think we should do a family day at a park somewhere. Bring a dish...grill out, whatever....then we should have an adult night planned out. We could do it in one weekend, especially for those out-of-towners....so a night out on Friday night and family outing on Saturday afternoon....or night out on Saturday night and family day on Sunday afternoon....has to be after 2 p.m. for us church-goers, please!!!!

Tammie, You remember teaching me to drive the stick-shift. Thank you very much for that!!!! I think I remember something also Tammie of a deer getting run over and not meeting up at our right spot at the right time...Do you remember???? LOL

I wish I had a lot more memories....most of my brain cells are dead....but I've been praying for God to rejuvinate some of them so I can share more memories!!!! (Seriously, not kidding)!!!

I won't ever ever ever forget skipping school and Mr. Jones busting my butt and me calling my mama crying and swearing to never do it again, if she would just write me an excuse saying I was sick!!!!! LOL

ok.. who remembers Mrs. Willie Mae Brookins? She was hilarious too... she always got onto us for making those "strikeovers" on the dinosaur typewriters..... LOL

06/09/08 06:08 PM #36

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

ok, for the record....stephanie, tell your kids that i will back you up on the shyness bit. hey stephanie's kids...she really didn't say that much! starla, girl, sorry you missed that long bus right to fl!

i remember we were instructed that we couldn't drink alcohol until we were 7 miles off shore, because there wasn't a drinking age in open water...NOW!...before we left port, we were ALL drunk! Blue Hawaiians and we thought we were so cool ordering 'sex on the beach' drinks. they sold them in clear, plastic cups and all the guys were making pyramids out of their "empties". what was so bad, was we went through some rough water that night and i threw up all over the floor in stephanie and angie's cabin. sorry girls! that was so long ago! oh, oh! and you boys thought it was so fun back then when i believe our class out did all the others with funneling! i remember kris giroux about drown himself! i hope all of you have quit that now, but it's fun to remember!

hey christy...do you remember ms brookins telling us that she kept up with all of her students 5 yrs after graduation....well, when josh was just a few months old, i took him to school...for some crazy reason. i guess i wanted to 'show him off'. she asked me who he was and i told her that it was my son. that flip do she had about went straight...lol! she said when did that happen? i was like, well...to say the least, i stumped her on that one. she was just nosey! lol!

i couldn't skip school! mr jones went and ate breakfast every morning at puckett's, so if i was out, he would call my mom to see if i was sick! denise (my sister) could forge my mom's name like nobody's business! my brother duane, somehow, someway managed to skip like 42 days in one quarter! he was the mullen kid who received his g.e.d. for the military. can't graduate on those terms, now can we? lol!

I LOVED MS. WILLIE MAE!!!! Remember her lunches, whole heads of lettuce and an entire tomato!!!! She ate them like apples.....tooo tooo funny!!!!

I've got to get my annuals out so I can go back and brain pick some more memories!!!

I know the best thing that came out of high school for me was MICHELLE SHADBURN AND CHERYL ESCOE!!!!

BY THE WAY DAVE...PLEASE GO CHANGES CHERYL'S NAME TO ESCOE...WITH AN E PLEASE!!! LOL ... THANKS!!!!

Stephanie and Beth!!!! Gurls.....Cheryl and Michelle and I thought about you last summer when we went and saw Rick Springfield in concert....YES...WE STILL GO TO HIS CONCERTS....Parents wouldn't let me go in high school...so I of course go to as many as I can now. But we really did think about you gurls and thought how fun it would be for all of us to have been together!!!!

Natalie......gotten kicked out of Stone Mountain anytime in the past 20 years.....nope....me neither!!!! I've pretty much stayed away from there....!!! :o)

06/09/08 07:44 PM #38

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

hey chris...didn't we ALL have mullets back then? LOL! with a perm? ooh and jerry curls! there was this guy on the bus who would get on last, so he had to stand up at the frount...well, i was first, so i got the front seat, oooh! he would be dripping! nasty! i'd have to cling to the window to prevent splatterage! LOL! some memories i'd like to suppress! LOL!

06/09/08 07:59 PM #39

Tammie Wheeler (Kennedy)

Yes Starla I remember the deer. I wasn't where I was suppose to be was I?
I forgot about teaching you how to drive a stick shift! You're welcome!
You know what, I didn't go on the senior trip either, like an idiot. I remember Jeff telling me that he didn't want me to go. And what did I do? What Jeff wanted me to.
Remember Mrs. Majorie Wilson?
Well, I told her I wasn't going on the senior trip. She proceeded to tell me (in so many words) Tammie, I know that you are a good girl and you don't drink and party like all of the other kids, but you need to go you'll have a good time. HOLY COW! I will never forget that as long as I live. I looked over my shoulder to make sure she was talking to me.

Yeah Stephanie you were very quite! I look forward to seeing you!

06/09/08 08:07 PM #40

Natalie Clark (Mitchell)

Starla, boy Stone Mountain. I haven't thought about that in a long time. God must really be working overtime reviving those memories.

Mrs. Brookins was my best friend my senior year. She never put my name on the absentee list because she knew I would be late and I could sneek into her class at that end door. Most of the time I could dodge Mr. Jones but he loved to yell all the way down the hall when he caught me.

What about that crazy coach that taught us history that year? I can't remember his name but he called me and Jodi Minnie Mouse and he banged several people's heads and would scream in their ears when they fell asleep in class.

Ya'll have kept me laughing this week.

06/09/08 08:16 PM #41

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

What are ya'll talking about... those teachers, counselors, etc. that went with us had a few drinks with us themselves. Natalie, remember that first night when it was so rocky from the storm... you and I crashed sick as dogs in mine and Lisa's room. I even brought those things you put behind your ear to prevent the motion sickness but forgot to put one on the first night....LOL. Oh yeah, and when Laura put one on.... she didn't wash her hands before putting her contacts in and her pupil dilated...oh me girl... she was blind as a bat in one eye.LOL

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

Hey Starla... remember selling donuts for FHA? Remember the pervert that wanted to buy some from you?....LOL

06/09/08 08:25 PM #43

Tammie Wheeler (Kennedy)

Natlie you reminded me of my tardiness!
I would go to the office to get a note from Mr. Jones. He would look up at me, look back down and without every lifting his head, he would say in his gruffy voice "you got a note?".
When I said "No" he'd check excused sign it and still without looking up at me say "don't let it happen again".
He did the same routine about 4 times a week for 2 years. Always saying "don't let it happen again"

who remembers Layondra beating the fool out of Jason McCall in Mrs. Keesee's room? He never did live that one down.
