Delores,

I do.

It is actually the Sing Star product from Playstation but I have 2 different games and DO have the 80's! It plays the songs over the actual videos of the songs and it can be played as vs. or duet or pass the mic party style. The little lady and I use it quite often and we are currently planning a 'Karaok-Wii' night within the next few weeks where we also play Wii as adults. Anybody ever play Wii? Anybody ever play Wii as an adult drinking game? Uh, huh.

It is also super-fun as a non-drinking game for those who do not partake.

Hey. Anyone thought about some of our friends that moved away during our high school years? Maybe we could send them an invite or let them know about the website for viewing purposes. For instance Daniel Gissendaner.

It is funny how when you first try you can't remember anything from 20 years ago then you read a few stories and the memories flow. I don't have as many experiences as most of you since I didn't arrive until the middle of the 10th grade, and I was a little (LOT!) more fearful of my parents than everyone else (read: uptight geek). I eventually mellowed out and got into some trouble of my own by our senior year. Here are a few memories that were locked away until Dave started this web site:

- Senior Trip Part 1: My recollection on the drinking restrictions is different than what someone else stated. We were one of the first groups on the boat and it didn't take long for us to put our stuff in our rooms and wind up in the lounge. We were informed that once on the boat we were under the 'jurisdiction of the Captain' and his drinking age was 18. That was my first experience with kamikazes and I remember enough that a few of those went down that day. Everyone in the lounge was pretty well drunk before the ship moved an inch.

- Senior Trip Part 2: The first night storm has been mentioned on here a couple of times. That first night I managed to make it to dinner, but the dining room had no windows and the ship took a big roll in the middle of the main course and I got sick immediately. I went to my room, bouncing off of the hallway walls all the way, but it was even worse down there. I made my way to the highest deck I could find where the wind would be strong and laid on a deck chair there. Angel Gentry found me there and sat with me all night making sure I was okay. That is a long story to say that I never forgot Angel's kindness.

- Leopard Skin Pants: Remember those? Remember who they were bestowed upon in the Class of '88? I think he is a preacher now.

- First Overnight Band Trip: My first overnight band trip at Buford was to Tifton. I was too new to make an informed decision regarding roommates and got assigned to a room. Well after curfew, my room was full of people and genders not actually staying in the room. The Color Guard was well represented, and some of you have been posting on this forum. Then somebody broke out the Mary Jane. I thought was going to hell or jail or both and I didn't even have a hit!

- There were the Official First Baptist Youth Group pool parties at my house, and then there were the UNOFFICIAL First Baptist Youth Group pool parties at my house.

- Another band story: We played at Athens Academy on their Senior night. I think we had a competition the next day or something because Ray Barfield insisted that we do our halftime show. Their field was by a lake where the wind was whipping off of and it was about 20 degrees. We stood huddled around some propane heaters on the Buford sideline for something like 30 minutes while they recognized every Senior in their school. Mr. Musselwhite felt sorry for us and come over and huddled with us. When we finally got to go on the field, their football team came out for the second half and ran through the band while we were in the middle of our show.

- Senior Prank: For many weeks there were folks trying to plan how to put the Apple Pie Tree from McDonald's Playland on the front steps of the school. I don't think anyone was willing to risk a criminal record enough for it to actually happen.

- I remember being bored in the Media Center and Laura Simpson copying her face on the copy machine in the Media Center.

- Speaking of the media center: Sherry Booth Ward Booth Cline Booth

- I remember the class voting on 'Freebird' for the class song and Marjorie Wilson would have nothing to do with it. I don't remember what we actually sang at graduation but I remember '89 or '90 actually sang 'Freebird' at graduation.

I apologize for the previous loooooong post, but it just stared coming out. I have one more.

Remember the Graduation Party? I remember doing the meet-and-greet thing in the gym after graduation and somebody said there was a graduation party at Kelly Sherwood's. When I got there, the yard, which was more like a field, was already full of cars and very few of them belonged to members of the BHS Class of '88. I seem to remember something to the effect of Kelly standing on her front porch waving her arms and saying "there is no party here.' It did no good and the whole thing turned into the Northeast Georgia Regional Redneck Hootenanny!

OH my, I went to school with a bunch of WILD PEOPLE!!! I had no idea all of this was going on! Even Jonathan's band trip story is shocking!! Lacrecia, where were we? Laura, we were never invited to these basement parties either!! We did make up for it on the senior trip though. I think we made it through dinner the 3rd night. Thanks to Delores and her crew, Lacrecia, Rhonda and I tried every drink they ordered. I think that's why I don't drink now! And yes Dave, I love the Wii, I send my son to bed early so I can play what "I" want!

Again, Lacrecia where were we, did you know half of this stuff was going on? Bill, were you involved in any of this as well????

(Also, Lacrecia, I'll see you to give you money for flowers.)

Oh! Michelle! You are too funny! That was good! Starla...keep that in mind! Say Jonathan, what was our class song? I remember it sounded like there were only 3 or 4 of us singing it. I turned to Patrick and he was mouthing the words. It's funny, because I was trying to think of it the other day. Maybe I can find a performance track! LOL! I love to sing, so I'm ready for the karoke. Hey Dave, thanks for acknowledging those of us who don't 'partake'. But regardless, it will be so fun. I don't rembember the printed pants deal, but I remember that they handed down to me a ball and bat (plastic...my son inherited it) and call me 'Delores Mullen-The Total Package'....as in the wrestler Lex Luger. See, I told you I'd never live down a legendary reputation.........THAT NEVER HAPPENED! LOL!

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

Don't feel bad Mona. I was never at Laura's but I spent my time, basically revolting against everything I was taught not to do! My poor mom thought that I was the innocent one....lol....until I got pregnant! She's good with it now though! LOL!

Lacrecia...money in the mail to you for flowers.

Delores, I believe the song was called "Friends" by Michael W. Smith...I think.

That was someone's class song. LOL

06/11/08 10:05 AM #80

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

Wasn't that the class of '87? I really like that song! I can get a performance track on that one today!

06/11/08 10:08 AM #81

Mona Bennett (Johnson)

Delores, OBVIOUSLY, we all had a secret wild side! I thought I graduated with saints!!! LOL!!! : )

Those times have made us all who we are now.

I still think Laura needs to have a basement party though, so those of us that didn't get to come, can experience it now!

06/11/08 10:09 AM #82

Mona Bennett (Johnson)

I liked that song, maybe I tuned out our song and sang theirs!

06/11/08 10:13 AM #83

Johnathan McRary

Delores - I think that we sang Friends are Friends Forever, by Michael W. Smith. That was by decree from the administration, because we couldn't agree on anything else after Freebird won the vote. And yes it was someone elses ('86 maybe?) song, which was what was so bad. Good song but it was someone elses.

The pants were given to Jon by Bill Fricks (Class of '87), when we were in the school parking lot getting ready to board the bus for Senior Trip. They had been handed down from one Class Party King to another.

06/11/08 10:41 AM #86

Mona Bennett (Johnson)

I've said that was our song for 20 years now, so if it's not, it is now! It is a beautiful song and it will make you cry, I've used it to make CD memory books. Delores, learn all the words for a Reunion performance!

06/11/08 10:45 AM #87

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

funny thing...the record company for m.w.s. for 'friends' is "REUNION RECORDS". ironic, huh? hey mona...will do!

Class Night is one night I've tried to forget. Christie Whitt and I were responsible for Class Predictions, and some of the things we came up with I totally regret today.
