Wow, this could take a while, or maybe I'll do it in stages. I attended both College of Idaho, the Idaho State University after graduation, not completing college but earning a secretarial certificate.
In 1975 I married Jim Herbert and we settled down in Burley in 1978 where we had two wonderful children. I was a stay at home mom until they started school, then worked part time for Moyle Mink matching and shipping mink pelts. Fun job and I still dream of the mink coat I was going to have made. I was treated for lymphoma (a cancer in the lymph system) in 1989 and 1990 before moving to Hagerman in 1990 shortly after completing treatment. I've been healthy since and live life to the fullest.
After moving to Hagerman I became a real estate agent and then a broker. I have owned my own company, Silver Sage Realty for 18 years. It has been rewarding and at times challenging as we navigate the economic roller coaster. Jim and I divorced in 1998 and I returned to college to complete a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Training and Development, with a goal of finishing by the time I was 50 (I was 46 at the time) by being a part time student. Since I am prone to take either the "black and white or full color" approach to life with no room for grey, I ended up being full time student and working. The result was that not only did I reach my goal, I also earned a Master's in Training Management before turning 50.
Since completing college I have continued to build my real estate business, and became a grandmother in 2006 to Baylee, who is now a delightful 4 1/2 year old. My sweetheart, Ron Quesnell and I enjoy time on the water fly fishing, camping, observing wildlife, and fun with our families. I am a want-to-be artist learning watercolors and continue to follow my commitment to be a "life long learner" in all I do.
