Cheryl Katherine Ryan passed away on Friday at here residence in Butte with her faithful fur baby, Licorice, at her side. Cheryl was born on September 08, 1945 in Butte, Montana, the daughter of James P. “Cabbage” and Irene (Osborne) Ryan.

Cheryl attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School and graduated from Butte High School. She later earned her degree as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) from the Butte Vocational Technical College. She worked at Crest Nursing Home and Park Royal Nursing Home before joining the staff and Butte Convalescent Center, where she worked for more then 30 years.

Cheryl enjoyed the lifestyle Montana had to offer. Not one to seek adventure beyond her own back yard, she enjoyed camping and fishing. Cheryl had a special gift for caring for people and animals, offering love, care, and companionship to both. She spoke to her furry friends with the same affection with which you would speak to a loving friend.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Ryan; and her brother-in-law, Bob “Bubba” Dennehy. She is survived by her fur baby; her dog, Licorice; sisters and brother-in-law; Alicia “Susie” Dennehy, and Linda and Fred Lamuth; her nephews and nieces; Ryan Dennehy, Trooper Lamuth, Kim Dennehy, and Delacy Lamuth; and her great nephews, Rileigh Dennehy and Ayden Lamuth. She is also survived by numerous cousins and many cherished friends, which include Amy, Sarah, Dave, and Joann.

Friends are asked to join the family on Tuesday after 10:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Garden, located in Crackerville, near Fairmont Hot Springs and Resort. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Humane Society or Albert’s Angel Fund.
