Donna Lee (Hawke) Grunloh was born in Butte on Dec. 11, 1945, and passed away at her home in Livingston, Calif., on May 8, 2012.

Donna graduated from Butte High School and became a secretary working in Butte, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. She married William “Bill” Grunloh in 1967. She graduated Cal State University in 1976 and became an elementary school teacher, where she worked for 25 years.

She and Bill retired to Polson in 2000, wintering in Livingston, Calif., where they both had lived and worked for many years.

Donna enjoyed floating, camping, hiking and reading. She was active in Curves and was a generous friend and helper to many organizations and individuals. She survived surgeries, chemo, radiation for five years without complaint — and marriage to Bill for 45 years.

Donna is survived by her husband, Bill; two sisters, Barbara Kremer and Mickey Le Prause; two brothers, David Hawke and John Hawke of Butte; many friends and extended family members.

She is preceded in death by mother, Virginia, and father, Bill (Buster) Hawke.
