Kurt Burris

After moving to Denver to ski, I met my wife, who while waiting to start grad school was working part time at the bar my rugby club drank at. We married at my folks place outside of Denver in 1984. Upon her graduation in 1989 we moved to California so I could attend UC Davis and study in the Enology and Viticulture program. I love living where I can visit snow when I want and never have to shovel it, or plug my car in so it will start. And, I do get a ton of mileage horrifying my son and his friends about the brutal Alberta winters. And entrancing them with stories about backpacking in Banff.

Of all the great memories, running the fictitious Roger Irving Gibseen for student council president is my favorite. Mr. Robb, my English 30 teacher, informed us that Roger was the only person to hand in all his assignments in 12th grade.

Probably not a surprise, but I was terrified people, especially girls, would actually talk to me.

Model Parliament and Rugby were both fabulous

Too many to name. It changed every class.
