Lolita Pusag Yangyon

I am now retired from being a public school teacher in Laguna, blessed with 6 grandchildren, and granted a multiple (10 years) visa to USA. Occasionally, I visit my brother Kuya Dayo and his family in Ventura CA. I am actively involved in community projects as secretary of the Senior Citizens Group and chapel treasurer. I was glad during my tour in the US, I met again my classmates, Cora Bugarin Rabo, Marita Dimanlig-Diaz, and Rey Centeno in Florida. I hope I can again see some of my classmates in the near future.

I was very athletic, being a member of the Softball team of Rizal Institute. We were always sent to LAPRISAA Meet during my 4 years stay in RI. If some members of Class 58 remember, I together with Gertrudes Capati served as student janitress to pay off our tuition fees. My skills as a softball player became my stepping stone to earn a scholarship playing for the University of the East Varsity Team that played in UAAP. I really enjoyed RI because there we were taught gardening, going to some neighboring towns to join in the planting rice of some farmers especially in Banlic. We were under Mr. Bartolome Rubio who was very patient in teaching us the value of being industrious. I really missed those days and I am always telling my grandchildren that no other schools have the same curriculum subjects that were being offered up to this time.
