Dortha Cate 82, passed from this life to the next on Friday, August 2, 2019. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 10 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Murray Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland on Friday from 7 to 8 PM.
Dortha Mae Barnett was born on October 25, 1936, in Strawn to Joseph Barnett and Millie Murray Barnett. She married Jerrell Cate in Cisco. Together they owned businesses including a trucking company. She was a Christian and loved playing bingo, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and a sister. Survivors include her sons, Jerrell Dwayne Cate and James Cate and wife, Pam; sister, Connie Cate; grandchildren, David Cate, Janice Bairoi s, Joseph Cate, and Brandi Cate; and six great-grandchildren.Online condolences may be made at www.edwards-funeral-homes.com
