Mack Weston

Hereford, Texas -- Harmon "Mack" Weston, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday in Christ Community Fellowship in Vega with Craig Solomon officiating.  Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers.

Mr. Weston was born July 19, 1931, in Merkel to Harmon "Buck" and Vera Brown Weston.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, stationed in Fort Chaffin, Arkansas.  He attended Christ Community Fellowship in Vega.

He spent his career as a cattle rancher and farmer, settling in the Texas Panhandle, where he met DeVerne "Dee" Bates.  They married on Feb. 3, 1989, in Las Vegas.  Mack was well-known for his passion for breeding and racing horses.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wes Weston; and Faith Miller, the mother of his children.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Dee, of Hereford; two daughters, Anita Buchhagen of Tucson, AZ and Jana Sherlock of Alliance, NE; three stepdaughters, Michelle Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Melodie Hodges and Lisa Kimbell, both of Amarillo; a sister, Billie Lightfoot of DeLeon; a brother, Charles Jack Weston of Temple; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren,
