Ann Stephenson (May) (1960)

Allene Griffin Warden died when the car she was driving hit a tree on Sadosa Street in Eastland, Texas on November 15, 2003.

She was born the 12th child of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Griffin, Sr.. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1956. Shortly, thereafter, she married Guy Warden of Eastland,Texas and they moved out to Slaton where they worked on a ranch for a while. When Guy started working as a cattle buyer for Newhoff of Dallas, TX,they moved to Irving,Texas where their 2 girls, Cathy and Diane, were born. Allene did some modeling at the Apparel Mart in Dallas and took a course in Real Estate. She did some Real Estate sales but gave it up when they moved out to Hereford, Texas. Guy and Allene divorced after 16 years of marriage. She lived in Hereford for awhile and worked in the office of a cattle feed lot. Later she moved to Las Vegas, Lubbock, Dallas, and then eventually back to Eastland where she managed the Ramada Inn for awhile. She also did some Home Health Care while living in Eastland. Throughout the years, she was a devoted mother to her mentally challenged daughter.

Allene had four grandchildren, Jordan, Carter, Kallie and Tanner Jackson of Coppell, TX. She was a terrific aunt to several Carbon High School students, Ann and Charley Stephenson, Margaret and Nancy Mills, Susan, Larry, and Robin Griffin, and Herbert Ray, Joyce, Debra and George Casey.

Allene loved getting together with her classmates at the School Reunions and didn't want to miss any of them. Her family and her relationships with her fellow classmates were very dear to her.

She made a definite impact on the lives of those who knew her. She is sorely missed and lives on in the hearts and cherised memories of all her family and friends.
