Lavern Jackson - Class Of 1939

LaVern "L.V." Jackson, 60, a Carbon area rancher for 40 years died on October 5, 1981, in Eastland Memorial Hospital after a long illness.  Services were held at First Baptist Church in Carbon, directed by Bakker Funeral Home.  The Rev. Jim Turner of Azle officiated.  Burial was in Murray Cemetery in Carbon.

He was born July 2, 1921, in Carbon, where he lived all his life.  He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.  He married Dorothy Guy February 15, 1952 in Carbon.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Carbon.

Survivors included his wife; a son, Dale of Abilene, a daughter Lavada Tucker of Sweetwater; four brothers, Bob of Odessa, J. E. of Carbon, Dwain of Fort Stockton and Drew Dan of Cisco; three sisters, Lou Ann Griffith of Midland, Betty Jackson of Denver, Colorado and Patsy Sims of Graham; and a grandson.
