John Trimble - Class Of 1938 VIEW PROFILE

John Trimble, age 90 of Breckenridge, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Cal Hoffman and Rev. Charles West officiating.  Visitation was held Tuesday evening, November 29 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2 in the Forrest Lawn Memory Gardens in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Services were entrusted to Moreheart Mortuary.

John Edward Trimble was born on September 8, 1921 in Carbon, Texas to parents, Willard Edward Trimble and Ella Foster Trimble.  He grew up in Carbon where he graduated from Carbon High School.  John went on to attend Texas Tech University and Texas A&M University.  He married Catherine Addaline Finch on December 20, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas; and together they had one son, Carroll Edward Trimble.  He later married Delores Arlene Durman on February 8, 1944 in Denver Colorado.  During WWII he served in the United States Army, in which he earned the rank of Sergeant,  Following an honorable discharge from the military, John attended Purdue University where he completed his gaduate and post graduate degrees.   John and Delores eventaully settled in Indianapolis, Indiana, where John utilized his vast knowledge of electrical engineering to operate many successful businesses including, Trimble Electric, Trimble Sound Service, Trimble Searchlight Servce and Tower Service and Manufacturing. Delores preceded him in death on July 14, 1990.  John later married his childhood sweetheart, Eunita Irene Pierce Taylor on December 23, 1992 in Breckenridge.  John and Eunita made their home in Breckenridge, but enjoyed traveling together and spending their summers in Indiana.  Prior to his death he was the recipient of the 65 year pin of Masonic Membership.  He earned the degree of Shriner from the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis.  John  was a memeber of the Grace Methodist Church in Indianapolis, as well as the First United Methodist Church of Breckenridge.  A dedicated businessman and servant of God, John was also a very talented artist and singer.

John was preceded in death by his parents; three wives and one step-on, William  Reed Taylor.  He is survived by one son, Carroll Edward Trimnble and wife, Shirley of Jourdantaon; two grandchildren, Russell Wayne Trimble of Jourdanton and Sally Elizabeth Smith of Harlingen; four grandchildren, Chelsea Lanae Smith of College Station; Colton Lynn Smith of Harlingen, Caitlyn Lee Smith of Harlingen and Chandler William Trimble of Seguin; one step-niece, Denise Durham of Alaska; one step-great nephew, Scott Dillman and wife, Julie of Indianapolis, Indiana; one step-great niece, Allison Connaly of Indianapolis, Indiana; one step-great-great niece, Sophie Dillman of Indianapolis; one step great-great nephew, Max Dillman of Indianapolis; four stepchildren, Janice Taylor and Herb of Salado, Charles Taylor of Fort Worth, Judy Simmons and husband, Jim of Arroyo City and Terry "Fuzz" Taylor and wife, Kim of Lubbock; thirteen step-grandchildren and nineteen step-great grandchildren.
