Gary Lee Johnson, 70, of the Flatwood Community died June 16, 2011, in a Stephenville, Texas nursing home.  He was born on August 18, 1940 in Gorman, Texas to Orval Lee and Mildred Irene Kirby Johnson. He was a veteran of the U. S Army and was a retired aircraft mechanic.  He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include:  a brother:  Richard Johnson of Flatwood Community; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law:  Darlene and Darrell Basham of Eastland, Sharon Russell of Dallas, and Judy and Darrelll Willard of Mesquite; nephew, Darrell Basham of San Diego, CA; nieces, Delanie Vittitow of Austin, TX, Nicole Kittrell of Streetman, TX, Lisa Torres, of Mesquite TX and Hichelle Duron of Allen, TX; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Service was at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with Ronnie Mac Chestnut, officiating.  Burial was in Flatwood Cemetery.
