Paul Monroe "Teet" May - Class Of 1905

Paul Monroe "Teet" May was born on May 22, 1925, to William Harry and Ulala Augusta Hardwick May in Mangum, Texas.  He entered Heaven's gates on August 26, 2012, at the age of 87 surrounded by his family.  On June 24, 1944, he married Mamie Helen Keith in Carbon, Texas.  He served his country in the Army from 1944-1946 in World War II, reaching the rank of staff sargeant.  He fought in the Pacific theatre in Japan and the Philippines, where he earned the Bronze star, 4 ribbons and 2 bars.  He owned and operated Paul "Teet" May Lease Service until he retired.  Upon retirement he loved three things:  playing poker, hunting deer and growing a garden with his wife.  He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Masonic Hardeman Lodge #179 in Luling.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #177 in Luling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.  He is survived by his loving wife, Helen of 68 years; three children:  Linda and husband, Ray McIllroy of Electra, Texas, David and wife Gail May of Luling Texas and Donna and husband Mike Dixon of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren:  Paul Sam McIllroy of Stroud, Oklahoma; Laura Kay and husband Casey of Snyder, Texas; Claude Ray McIllroy, Jr. of Midland, Texas; Weston May and wife Linda of San Antonio, Garrett May of Huntsville; Michelle Wilson and husband Christian of Jackson Mississippi; Kristy Dixon and Michael Dixon of Austin, Texas.  Hehas 4 great-grandchildren:  Lasey, Caeden, Cash and Slade and has one on the way, Jett Christian.

Services were held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Bakker Funeral Home in Eastland, Texas and he was buried at sunset acccording to his wishes.
