After graduating I went to Indiana State and spent 4 years wondering if there was any place worse than Terre Haute to live in--finally came to my senses in the summer of '73 & moved to Orlando, FL. Lived in Central FL area for 18 yrs. & watched it grow from a sleepy little Southern town into the metro-attraction it is today. Worked in route sales all of those years(Bordens, Canada Dry, Pepsico, Anheuser-Busch, and Miller Beer companies). Married first time in 1980, Jane & I had 2 girls--divorced in 1986. married Linda in 1987 & have had 21+ wonderful years with her!
Gained 2 boys with Linda. We moved from FL to Chicago in 1991 for a better job... 2 years in Schaumburg, IL and we thought we wanted to settle down for good--just not at Chitown prices, so we bought a little farm outside of Winslow, IL(2+ hrs. west of Chicago, near Galena, IL). We are still there today and loving every minute of it! I drive now for a postal contractor out of Rockford, IL and my wife works as an insurance underwriter for Grange Insurance and works out of our home. I also raise a few steers for customers and we have chickens & lots of eggs which we sell, too! We are active in our church in nearby Monroe, WI, and feel very blessed for God's provision each & every day!

I think some of my fondest memories come from the times I spent at WHJE-91.3 on the FM dial...two stories real quick. The first was during our senior year when there was an earthquake in either southern IL or Missouri on a Saturday morning and we were one of the first stations to report it on the air. Things were shaking around briefly and I called the State Police and they confirmed that there had been an earthquake. We reported it but nobody would believe that there had actually been an earthquake! You don't have earthquakes in Indiana!
The other story involves a much more serious incident when a town marshal in Westfield had been shot as he was holding a couple of people for a b & e in town--it was on a Saturday evening and another guy & I decided we would run up to Westfield for some "on the scene" reporting. We left the station and got on to Keystone heading north towards Westfield and probably went all of a mile before we realized just how stupid we were and ended up making a run to the TeePee at 38th St. for burgers & fries--
