In 1996, I purchased a fitness center which eventually lead to 6 nationally.
In 1998, I ventured into the pizza business as a franchisee of Jet's Pizza. Within 1 year, I opened 3 additional locations in metro-Detroit.
I sold the Jet's franchises in 2003 to join a partnership that purchased 27 Speedway America servise stations, including real estate projects. The partnership also acquired a fuel distribution co.
In 2004, I purchased a restaurant with a micro-brewery, CJ'S Brewing Company, located in Commerce, Michigan.
In 2006, after divesting my holdings in the petroleum industry, I became CEO of Papa Romano's Enterpirises. I purchased the chain from Founder and former CEO Ronald Hancock. I quickly began renovating and remodeling the chain, installing a new executive mgmt team and strategizing a growth plan. In 2006, 2007, and in 2008, Papa Romano's is selected by The Detroit News as the provider of the Best Pizza and Subs in its annual Best of Michigan survey.
Six months after the purchase of Papa Romano's, the chain joined forces with another metro-Detroit based fast food franchise, Mr. Pita. In August 2007, I purchased the controlling interest of Mr. Pita to better position both companies for national expansion and co-branding.
Throughout my career, I continue to invest in, own and develope a variety of real estate projects.
I am also an active member of Legatus, an organization for Catholic business leaders.
My wife, Susan, and I have five young children ages 1-11 yrs.
