Legends abound concerning the worship of the infant Jesus by the “wise men from the east.” The Nativity of Christ was revealed to the Magi by a wondrous star.
"January 6 is the feast of these three Magi, who brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Our Lady let each of the Magi hold Jesus in his arms. They were given some of His baby clothes to bring back to the East by way of relics. The Magi returned to the East, to Persia and later were baptized there by Saint Thomas the Apostle, in the year 40 (https://aleteia.org/2017/12/26/did-st-thomas-the-apostle-baptize-the-three-wise-men/ ). All three of the Magi were martyred for their Catholic Faith. Their names are, Saint Gaspar, Saint Melchior and Saint Balthasar. The bodies of Saint Gaspar, Saint Melchior and Saint Balthasar were first brought to Constantinople, and then to Milan, and in the twelfth century they were placed in the Cathedral of Cologne, in Germany, where they are venerated with much love by the Christians who worship there.
"The “star” the three Wise Men saw was in the spiritual eye. Deeply meditating yogis focus their gaze at the “spiritual eye” east in the forehead (the point between the eyebrows). Those advanced yogi’s that can perceive the spiritual eye see a golden ring, with a blue background and a silver white 5 pointed star inside. The golden ring is the Holy Aum vibration, the blue background is the Christ Consciousness (the Son) in creation and the 5 pointed star the transcendental Cosmic Consciousness (the Father). This is the real “Stargate” the wise men penetrated to intuitively lead them to the infant Christ.
The spiritual eye is the entryway into the ultimate states of divine consciousness. In deep meditation, as the devotee’s consciousness penetrates the spiritual eye, into the three realms epitomized therein, he experiences successively the following states: superconsciousnessor the ever new joy of soul-realization, and oneness with God as Aum or Holy Ghost; Christconsciousness, oneness with the universal intelligence of God in all creation; and Cosmicconsciousness, unity with the omnipresence of God that is beyond as well as within vibratory manifestation (no one can reach the Father or Cosmic Consciousness except by first attaining Christ consciousness.) Those who go deep enough in their concentration will penetrate that “third” eye and see God. Seekers of truth therefore should develop the ability to project their perception through the spiritual eye. The practice of Yoga meditation helps the aspirant to open the single eye of intuitive consciousness.
Paramahansa Yogananda wrote explaining the passage from Ezekiel (43:1-2); “Through the divine eye in the forehead (‘the east’), the yogi sails his consciousness into omnipresence, hearing the word Aum, the divine sound of ‘many waters’: the vibrations of light that constitute the sole reality of creation.” In Ezekiel’s words: “Afterwards he brought me tothe gate, even the gate that looketh towards the east; and behold, glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and His voice was like the noise of many waters; and the earth shined with His glory.”
Jesus also spoke of the spiritual eye: “Whenthine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light…. Take heed therefore that the light whichis in thee be not darkness” (Luke 11:34-35)

George Harrison's outlook had been transformed by his and Lennon's experiences with the hallucinogenic drug LSD, he said the drug had revealed to him the futility of the band's widespread fame by "opening up this whole other consciousness".

In the early 1960s, Graham moved to San Francisco, and in 1965, began to manage the San Francisco Mime Troupe. He had teamed up with local Haight Ashbury promoter Chet Helms to organize a benefit concert, then promoted several free concerts. This eventually turned into a profitable full-time career and he assembled a talented staff. Graham had a profound influence around the world, sponsoring the musical renaissance of the 1960s from its epicenter in San Francisco. Chet Helms and then Graham made famous the Fillmore and Winterland Ballroom; these turned out to be a proving grounds for rock bands and acts of the San Francisco Bay area including the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, who were first managed, and in some cases developed, by Helms.
The Wall of Sound was an enormous sound reinforcement system designed in 1973 specifically for the Grateful Dead's live performances. The largest concert sound system built at that time, The Wall of Sound fulfilled lead designer Owsley "Bear" Stanley's desire for a distortion-free sound system that could also serve as its own monitoring system. Due to its size, weight and resulting expense, the full WoS was only used from March to October of 1974.

This is my first post on this site. We have been discussing having a Birthday Party for the Class of “71” turning 71 this year.
The big issue is not the date but how many are really willing to commit and be there. If its only a hand full. Ok – it’s a small get together – If others are willing to speak up & commit, then something can be planned and others that must travel can plan also. The party is about all of us. And all to enjoy. Also if you can get In touch with some that do not have a computer and please let them know. There are a few that already come to the breakfast that the land line phone is used. The big question – Who is willing to commit. This number means everything to the plans that will be made!
I will not be going to the “71 @ 71” event. If it were a 2-3 hour drive, that would be different. I encourage all who can go, to go, and have A GREAT TIME!
The dates we have been thinking about for the party are 6/22 sat,6/30 sun,7/27 sat, 8/17 sat,9/22 sat. The breakfast crew threw thses dates out just to get a idea what works. Just let us know if you are interested and what date so we can figure out how big or how small . Nothing fancy.oh and Randy if you are local get your butt to breakfast. Lol

Irving Crown – Class of “71” – Here we are in March already. Time does fly. The last Thursday of this month falls in spring break and a number for people have other plans – For all that are interested, We will be getting together for breakfast next Thursday, March 21 at Southern Belles at --- 9:00 AM. I want to thank you for the responses on committing to coming to the BP. Looks like about 33 are committing and that doesn’t count ones who are not on-line. This will give us direction as to a venue and getting ideas together so it remains reasonable cost & enjoyable. We are also trying to keep in mind easy access, as even stairs can be a challenge for some. Here are some venues being considered, Rosie O’Hare’s (if weather is good this would be outside). A Park setting, VFW, Port Edwards, and others. Hope to see you next Thursday.
Toto IV is the fourth studio album by American rock band Toto, released in the spring of 1982 by Columbia Records. I always liked the Toto IV album, especially the songs “Africa” and “Rosanna”. When I was in the Navy, we pulled into Mombasa, Kenya. Myself and others from the ship went on a 2 night/3 day photographic safari. They picked us up at the ship in VW microbuses. The roofs were raised so you could stand up and take pictures. We spent the night in bungalows at the base of Kilimanjaroon the Kenya side of the Serengeti– cool.

I had a really different "Toto" experience. Kinda funny, but for my family, impactful. Sometime in the 80s I bought an Olds '88. My grandpa always drove Oldsmobiles, and it was very much "A Doctor Car" It came with a cassette demonstration tape, to show how great the sound system was, and it was indeed nice. The tape had two of every genre: Two Classical, two Jazz, two Gospel, two rhythm and blues, etc. One of the two Pop Rock tunes was Africa. I like Rock and enjoy all kinds of music in general, but when I get in the Car, I usually play classical music. My Kids were subjected to my music preferences, so at least in my car, Toto's Africa was one of the only two Pop Rock songs they ever heard on a regular basis. Years later, my daughter was sitting in a Karioke bar in Chicago. When Afrika came up, she remarked it was her favorite tune. A guy at the next table heard her and said, "Mine too!: They are now married with two kids.

The 1980’s was my favorite decade. I was living in San Diego, about a 25 minute walk from the SRF Church on 1st St., not far from Balboa Park and the Zoo, I was always walking along the bay. Irving Crown Class “71” – 71st Birthday party - Thank you again for all that responded to committing on attending the party. We are currently looking into venues for size, cost, availability etc. Our goal is to narrow it down or even decide on one this next breakfast. With the commitments we have (about 30) we are looking at about 45 to 50 attending. Some placing we have checked are just too small to be comfortable. What seems to be practical will cost approximately $35 to $55 each. This would include the room/hall – catering 2 to 3 Entree dinner with appetizers, salads & sides, and music DJ for background music, requests and for those ambitious ones Karaoke. We do need help in gathering mailing addresses. Not everyone has electronic access, all help is appreciated. McVie died of a stroke in hospital on 30 November 2022, at the age of 79. She had been suffering from metastatic cancer of unknown primary origin.

Attention Irving Crown Class of 71 – We had a great breakfast on May 23. We discussed a lot of issues and things required for the upcoming party. We are very near in completing the invitations and hope to settle on them to begin to get them out mid next week. Here is a little of what we have gone through. 1. We received about 32 responses of individuals committing to come to the party. If ½ of them bring a spouse/significant other that would bring the total to 48 attending. Hopefully there will be more than that. Now with that we looked a accommodations for around 50 plus. We considered Room cost, accessibility, size and then the menu, A couple of locations we would have to split – some outside and some inside, we decided no to that. We wanted to stay away from stairs and have plenty of parking. If you have questions we will have contact information on the invite. Hope to hear from you. Individuals attending the breakfast were – Ken Poulos, Craig Lauer, Don Keller, Catherine Davis Conro, Floyd Hopp, Jim Simons, Diane Hoffman Taylor and Tom Duensing.
